I mean, how could you not see that language "any player" in the agreement and not see where this leads. For having this reputation of being such an iconic, big, badass, mega-influential corporation, the NFL has really had some of the shoddy lawyering I have ever seen. They're like buffoons.
Not sure about either set of lawyers running rings around the other. The League basically pushed the CBA into the Bounty appeal response. Any further action by the players will definately result in a response by the league similar to "That's what the CBA states, and we followed those guidelines".

As far as shoddy lawyers, they just look for people that will uphold their viewpoint (right or wrong). Look at the Doctor they had testify before Congress.

Personally I think it's a BS decision. Drew Brees knows all too well what the intent of the wording of the contract was. But, i guess the owners deserve what they get when they put vague wording in a contract, which to me wasn't vague at all.

Anyway Drew, you got that bull**** out of the way. Get your a$$ back to New Orleans and get a frikkin contract worked out, so you can get back to work and we the fans can start breathing again.

Pay da man big , his worth for a one-year contract.
Five years is way too long.
Three years is pushing it.
Two years would be ok and for him and next year, he and Coach Saen P finish their Saints run here before moving on to other places.

Ok when does Drew sign and for how long. 5 years 20 million. He had the best year for a Quarter Back last year. Step up Tom Benson. He has a lot of great years in front of him.

I am thinking in the $20M-$20.5 range for 5 years...

THEN I will buy a Brees Jersy...

I will never buy a Jersey for a player that could be wearing another teams colors in subsequent years.

The only way Payton goes anywhere is if he gets fired. That's not gonna happen. It's not like college where you have some success and then you leave for the NFL for more money. When you're already an NFL head coach, there's no reason to go to another team unless you get fired, if any team wants you after being fired. That whole Dallas thing was just the media, as usual, having nothing better to do than stir up controversy.

Agreed! Says my:
Ricky Williams Saints jersey
Kyle Turley Saints jersey
Joe Horn Saints jersey #1 (I've since acquired #2 after he retired)

Not to mention my:
Brett Favre Packers jersey

EDIT: My Brees jersey hangs in the closet, awaiting it's ruling ...
