Question For The Forum

Which regular season game are you waiting on most?

For me it is the 40-whiners

Falcons

Panthers

Buccaneers

Cowboys

Eagles

Giants

Redskins

Broncos

Chiefs

Chargers

Raiders

49ers

Packers

skymike 08-02-2012 07:06 PM

a lot of teams whos azzzzz i want to kick...

but yeah.... 49ers.... and knock jim harbaugh out on a sideline play!

ChrisXVI 08-02-2012 07:09 PM

Chiefs... Just because my ol' lady got us tickets for the game for my birthday : )

Turbo Saint 08-02-2012 07:24 PM

49ers - b/c i wanna go to the dome and watch the massacre (was at candle**** last year)

raiders - b/c i wanna go back up to the bay area and piss all over the raider fans and their <100 IQ idiot selves trying to speak.

The Dude 08-02-2012 07:24 PM

San Francisco. I am terrified of them and just want to get it over with. I would love to get revenge for last year twice. Once during the regular season and again in the post season but its going to be tough.

Utah_Saint 08-02-2012 08:13 PM

The 49er game.
Had they won that game, I believe they would've beaten the Giants in the Dome and would've gone to their second Super Bowl in 3 years.

I think the Saints were clearly the better team in all aspects but turn overs. Drew had the record for most consecutive play off games with out an interception and the Saints had very few fumbles last year. So in my very homerish (let's pretend it's a word) mind, I'm convinced that game was a fluke and I want the Saints to show the rest of the world.

The Dude 08-02-2012 08:40 PM

The 49ers are a much improved team over last year too. Brandon Jacobs, Mario Manningham, Randy Moss, and several other offensive upgrades. We all saw what their D looked like and I don't see them regressing there. We cannot just assume we would have beaten NY even at home. The Giants are a completely different team in the playoffs than they are in the regular season, and they had some serious momentum and emotion going their way. I think we could have beat them too, but a lot of people seem to think that game would have been a given, and in no way would it have been.

The Dude 08-02-2012 08:41 PM

I think if Mr Gill Favor was our Interim coach and Rowdy Yates his ramrod was his assistant we could go all the way. Those guys have grit. Mr Favor would have been a hell of a coach.

73Saint 08-02-2012 08:45 PM

San Fran. Because leading up to last year's game, it's all I wanted...to see them in the playoffs and whip their a$$ for the years of 'Montana to Rice'. And for it to have happened the way it did...only makes me want to play them again that much more! I cannot wait for that game.

SloMotion 08-02-2012 08:49 PM

49'ers, Packers, Eagles ... in that order. 49'ers/Packers because it's a preview of what you'll see in the postseason and the Eagles just because they're once again predicting them to be the team to beat in the NFC & I want to see the Saints drop a 40-burger on 'em,.

Ashley 08-02-2012 08:52 PM

Well I will say this lets start off with week 4 Green Bay. I want to knock the snot out of that poster boy team. Then of course San Francisco.

SaintsBro 08-03-2012 07:25 AM

I just thought of something that kinda scares me. Payton always had that mojo for the night games, the bright lights and national TV; he'd turn on the jets and go full blast, he'd always blow people away if it was on national TV and the world was watching --- think about it, there's so many great night prime time games he's called. He knew how to really turn it on. Without Payton, I'm worried about the night games just as much as any of the others. I mean I used to be really confident like "WE GOT THIS" going into those type of prime time games, now I'm not so sure.

I'd probably say Falcons at home, just because that always ends up being a nail biter with so much of the season at stake.

Yeah, we all saw what their D looked like: they generated 5 turnovers, and still the Saints hung 32 points on them at their muggy field.

Yeah, Brandon Jacobs, the guy who rushed for 46 yards against the Saints last season.

Yeah, Mario who?

Yeah, Randy Moss, who last was a factor in 2007.

Yeah, the whiners are SO scary coming into New Orleans...

As for beating the Giants.. when you get spanked 49-24 and 48-27 and are overpowered on national TV in consecutive games the way the Saints overpowered the Giants, if you again have to go into the same venue against the same team, I don't care how "emotional" you are, how much of a professional you are, the other teams already has the upper hand on you.

Oh, and yes, I want the Saints to hang 40-50-60 on the whiners and bury Smith in the turf.

Utah_Saint 08-03-2012 12:22 PM

Is it just me or is the poll showing well over 100% now?

SAINTstunna 08-03-2012 01:02 PM

I wanna play san franSISSY!! Living in CALI... I can't stand all these BANDWAGGON bastards that came out of nowhere... they were pretty SURPRISING last year, but I don't expect the same success this year.. ALEX SMITH is Mr. inconsistant..He won't show up next season..... LESS GO N.O.!!!!!!!!!

alleycat_126 08-03-2012 01:02 PM

Sanfagsisco i got the james brown big payback cued up and ready to go.

Rugby Saint II 08-03-2012 01:42 PM

I've got my eye squarely on Green Bay. If anyone has the potential to keep up in a shoot out it's Green Bay.
Our defense is going to be like it was the last time that we changed D coordinators.
Superbowl winners!!!:bng:

TheDeuce 08-03-2012 01:46 PM

Just got tickets to the Falclowns game!!!

KevSears 08-03-2012 02:12 PM

Its a no contest: want that NINERS A$$!!!!

TheOak 08-03-2012 02:15 PM

Sorry... I had to go Giants.

Taking down the defending Super Bowl Champs.. Week 14 which is when they are supposed to be their best (end of the season).. No. 3 in the power rankings. And to beat Tom Coughlin with NO HEAD COACH!.. Almost forgot.. Putting down a Manning! This is Charlie Sheen Winning at its best!

I do not want revenge against the 49rs.

I want to make a statement to Goodell, and the world.

FU - We ROCK!

Beastmode 08-03-2012 02:18 PM

49ers have a tough schedule. I honestly don't see them winning any of these games:

Packers
Lions
Giants
Saints
Patriots

Seer1 08-03-2012 02:50 PM

Arizona... then the next one and so forth. One game at at time for me.

Oh sure, somebody had to go all smart and logical on us.

thefifthwall 08-03-2012 03:36 PM

The last game. That's when the fun starts. Sean back for playoffs?

Mardigras9 08-03-2012 03:55 PM

Always falcons, this season payback belongs to the 49ers. Like to see them in the dome twice this year if they can get to that game again.

Wilde18 08-04-2012 07:13 PM

In this forum, I learned that the Falcons suck. There is a huge rivalty going on. How come? How did it happen, that there is such a big rivalty between the SAINTS and the Falcons?

Somewhere over the rainbow!

WOW... where to start....................

Saints-Falcon Rivalry

This should give you a little head start....
Quote:

The Falcons–Saints rivalry, originally known as the Dixie Championship and now more often called the Southern Showdown, is a divisional rivalry in the NFC South of the National Football League. At 86 games played, the series is by far the oldest and most established rivalry in the division. Born one year apart, the Saints and Falcons were the first two NFL franchises in the Deep South (Washington and Dallas being arguably southern but not in the traditional Deep South). They have shared many of the same players, such as Morten Andersen (the leading scorer in both franchises' histories), Bobby Hebert (who quarterbacked for both teams in the 1990s), and Joe Horn (the Pro Bowl Saints receiver who left for the Falcons in 2007). They have also drawn coaches from the same families, and even shared a head coach: recent Falcons coach Jim L. Mora is the son of longtime Saints coach Jim E. Mora, and former Falcons and Saints coach Wade Phillips is the son of former Saints coach Bum Phillips. Although rarely noted by the national media - no doubt due to both teams' long stretches of futility - games between the Falcons and Saints have riveted their respective regions for more than 40 years. Fans of both teams consider the other their most important and hated opponent.

ESPN.com writer Len Pasquarelli has cited the rivalry as one of the best in sports: "Every year, bus caravans loaded with rowdy (and usually very inebriated) fans make the seven-hour trip between the two cities. Unless you've attended a Falcons-Saints debauchery-filled afternoon, you'll just have to take my word for how much fun it really can be."[1]

Atlanta currently leads the all-time series 46-40 (45-40 regular season, 1-0 playoffs). It began in 1967, the first year of play for the Saints, and press accounts from that game, including the Rome (Ga.) News-Tribune and Los Angeles Times, refer to it as the "Dixie Championship." In recent years, the game has sometimes been referred to as the "Southern Showdown." This has especially been the case leading up to the first of the two 2011 games, by WWL radio in New Orleans.

@ halo: thanks for the heads up. Falcons really suck ;)

I was looking forward to the Packers game the most, with the 49ers a close second, until that punk Whitner ran his mouth recently. Now it's 49ers, and it ain't close.

Budsdrinker 08-05-2012 10:55 PM

Redskins because it's first!

sharke 08-06-2012 06:08 AM

redskins, just because I have no doubt the Dome will be insane for the first game back
