Dude, you might want to reset that one for the younguns who have no idea what you're talking about. Rowdy Yates is also the name of a nationally syndicated country music jock, who used to be on air in Houston.

Somewhere over the rainbow!

Dont worry too much about its origin... It restarts every time a Falcants fan comments in an article. They justify the hate every hour on the hour.

SmashMouth 08-06-2012 10:53 PM

what? no love for the Feagles?

QBREES9 08-06-2012 10:55 PM

The Giants because I'll be there.

A couple added tidbits: (old guys help me out)

-- I think the Falcons were our first Hail Mary loss.

-- one time they just kept piling on and beat us 67-7

-- another time, in 83?, they took out the whole 3rd quarter in one drive... that
one is where I got the hate.

-- in '87, we lost to the 49ers by 2... Morten missed a FG that would have won... Jim Mora delivered the famous "coulda, woulda, shoulda" tirade -which triggered a rampage thru our next 3 opponents (one of my favorite times being a Saints fan) --- we kicked it off with a 38-3 demolition of the Falcons. (lead to a gutsy rematch win with the 49ers in Candlestick)

-- in the old days, we had a long history of fighting with Falcon fans in the stands.... in Tulane Stadium, and Fulton County Stadium.

Along the "old guys" lines, might bare to point out that the two cities have hated each other going back to the Civil War and Reconstruction, football is just a continuation of that rivalry/hatred.

The Gleeson statue item has not been added yet.

I am going with the Beagle. There will be a lot of offense in that game, and my entire fam are Eagles fans who enjoyed ripping me during the 49ers game last year.

Wilde18 08-07-2012 03:59 PM

Wow, interesting info on the rivaltry. Here in Germany every soccer club has his enemy... Can become dangerous at times ;)

Redskins - season opener.
We always seem to let rookie QB's off of the hook.
I want to see that change. Welcome RG3 into the league
with a nice 43-10 azz whipping he never forgets.
And I wish him well in that division especially against the girls.
We need to set the tone for the season in week one.
Total domination on both sides of the ball.

skymike 08-07-2012 04:16 PM

why do you keep saying somewhere over the rainbow?

'A-men', brother ... best damn board in the league ... and, um, we did have a brief discussion on Chik-fil-A that flew below the radar ... it was fun & light-hearted and we focused mostly on the waffle-fries,.

Re: Which regular season game are you anticipating the most?

All of them is not not an option. I am anxious about all the games.

To really answer, 49's, Atl. I want the Saints to to those divisonals more than anything.
Throw in Denver Manning.

In order , 1- Atl. 2-49'ers 3-Denver

i agree with you on all accounts.
This board has the most civil and knowledgeable posters without all the arrogance.

awwwww no love for the Bucs.....

no one enjoys a good Josh Freeman meltdown?

Re: Which regular season game are you anticipating the most?

A Josh Freeman meltdown is a good thing to do laundry to, and watch on television. Seems like the games we play the Bucs in the Dome, don't ever end up mattering in the season.

That is because those guys are not Forum gestapo.... Like on most other boards...

Going OT for a bit adds personality and color... Usually the topic rights it self with a few laughs in between.

The Panthers game in Charlotte. It will be my daughter's first trip to see the SAINTS play. They better win or she might not ever get a second trip.
