\"until they show me something???\"

We were 8-8 last year. Couldn\'t you all say this about each and every player on the team, and the team as a whole as well?

If so why speculate on anyone or anything concerning this team?

If you\'re afraid to speculate, say your afraid!

facts:
Every player in this league will either...
A-get better
B-stay about the same
C-get worse

We have a whole lot of players who should get better. So don\'t cop out with \"he hasn\'t shown me anything yet so I have no opinion whether he\'ll be good next year\" crap.

But oh well, nobody on this team has shown me squat so never-frickin-mind. Its all fiction until they prove it as fact.

I need an affable pill.

Geez, I was going to reply to this post and put my answers in, but Danno just convinced me not to. Good points tho, all the questions could be summed up into one, \"Are the Saints going to have a good year\", ie. be contenders, make playoffs, win playoffs and so on Everything is speculation this year. All of these things need to happen for the Saints to have a good year.

Thanks for the convincing points Danno, saved me about 5 minutes of my time.

Whoa, Turbo. Not necessary.

Two positions. Actually three players.

That\'s all I questioned as far as needing to show me something. What\'s wrong with that? Suddenly I\'m afraid to speculate?

I gave solid reasons as to why I don\'t think we can be too excited about Stalworth and Craft in particular. I also admitted that both have upsides, and the potential to have a good year. Based on fact, however, I refuse in those two cases to automatically assume the positive. Does that make my opinion a cop-out? Does it make my opinion inferior to yours?

You\'re a nice guy, Danno. I hope you\'re just having a bad day.

But oh well, nobody on this team has shown me squat so never-frickin-mind. Its all fiction until they prove it as fact.
? I have no idea where this came from. We can\'t question any player on the team without questioning every player? What are you talking about and why are you so angry about it? If you really have a question here, please explain it.

Take two, by the way.

I always enjoy reading everyone\'s posts. The reason these message boards are so great is it forces you to look at the logic one uses in the way things are evaluated.

Folks point out how you use a certain criteria to judge one thing but use a totally different criteria to evaluate something else.

I know I\'m guilty of it. And, IMO, it\'s not a good thing to do. At least not if you want to cut though the hype and try and form an unbiased opinion. And that\'s all anything is at this point is an opinion. Or educated guess. There are certain players on the team that are more of a sure thing but if a guy hasn\'t proven himself, then I say it is fiction.

Actually, I should not have asked \"fact\" or \"fiction\". I should have said \"optimistic\" or pessimistic\".

Maybe, I\'ll get kicked out of the sushine club for saying this, but, I\'m going to be optimistic on things when I feel there is a GOOD reason for doing so, but, I\'m going to realize that there\'s just as good of a chance that things will not work out with some players.

I think that\'s all whowatches was doing when he was stating his opinion. I tend to agree with whowatches.

Whoa, Turbo. Not necessary.
My bad, I didn\'t mean to make it sound like I was calling you out and I should have been more specific. Sorry.
I was slamming the whole \"they gotta show me first or else\" crowd.
It seem every time one of us speculates on how a player may develop we get the ever-insightful reply \"he hasn\'t shown squat yet\".
It gets old.
My apologies WW, my typing outran my brain.

Kool and the Gang, brother. Lots of parts of me are always outrunning my brain.

I\'ll buy you a beer at the Southern Miss v. Bama game.
