LOE - I can say that I am going to give everyone on the site a free copy and it still wouldn\'t constitute copyright infringement. At least, that\'s how I understand it. You should ask Gator to clarify. He\'s our in-house attorney.

As I understand it, copyright infringement occurs when you use copyrighted material from other sources for profit without approval. There was a landmark case that involved Sony many years ago when the casette tape was in its infancy in which Sony tried to block the sale of blank tapes b/c they claimed it allowed people to make copies, which violated their ownership rights. Sony lost.

That is why you can make mix tapes, CDs, DVDs, so long as you own the content (i.e. you can\'t use Napster to steal something and then copy it) and you\'re not doing it for profit. Since I pay for my satellite service, I can make a copy of what is being televised.

Now, if I were to start mass distributing it, then the issue might be blurred further. However, as of now, the way I understand it, giving a buddy a copy of a game you taped is not a violation of a copyright.

There endth the lesson.

Don\'t they say at the end of every game something to the effect of \"No part of this broadcast can be reused without the express written consent of the NFL or your local team.\" That may not be exactly the phrase but they say something like that.

I believe what they say is something like this:

\" This game cannot rebroadcast or retransmitted without expressed written consent from the NFL. \"

That\'s about the time I realize the \"comeback\" will not happen and we have lost the game.

It would appear you guys are right. I\'ve done a couple hours of researching, and \"trading\" copies of previously broadcasted games is %100 legal, i.e. as long as no profit is made, you can give copies away to your hear\'s desire.

When you run into trouble is when you

a) post copies or clips online
b) rebroadcast (which believe it or not includes displaying the broadcast on a screen that\'s over a certain size - a hotel in Vegas got popped with that last SuperBowl, they had to take down the big screen and use smaller screens to keep legal - weird).

can anyone help me id this tune? it goes thwap thwap boom tch boom tch boom tch.

Watching the broadcast right now. It\'s halftime. I\'m SO FREAKIN\' JACKED UP.

Couple of things:

1. Mistakes or not, Aaron Brooks was AWESOME that year. Hey Aaron, where\'s that fire my man? Bring it back and run the damn ball like you did then!

2. It is absolutely amazing to me what Ron Zook did with that defense. Talk about overachieving. That loss has been our biggest since Haslett came to NO.

3. Don\'t care what yuo say about the man, Willie Jackson was huge for us. In fact, Henderson I think it was said he was the best Run After Catch receiver on the team. The guy had 1,000 yards receiving. He was good.

4. Hand was fierce that year. What happened to him?

5. Man our lines were good.

6. Again, say what you will about the guy, but Sammy Knight was good. What a ball hawk.

More to come.

I\'ve said many times that I thought Willie Jackson was a big part of the offense. He and Brooks just seemed to have a chemistry that fostered completions at just the right times.

As far as the Dline goes, we had better LBs then, I think that was the key. Of course, Has said they were the weak point of the team as was La\'Roi Glover.

Man...

It still brings chills and even a tear to the eye. Hakim dropped the ball! Hakim dropped the ball!!

Just b/c I have to get the jab in... hey Billy, did you happen to see the replay? The announcers talked a couple fo times about the Saints short passing game, and how they tried to get the ball to their receivers quickly on short routes and let them run after the catch. Sounds like the \"traditional\" west coast to me!!

The most impressive moment other then the Zook footage .

Grant Winstrom of the Rams talking to the defensive coordinator of the Rams after the final Saints touchdown , he is reviewing the play with the coach and his comment is \" We cannot get there in 2 seconds \" .

The short routes were open , which is something defenses playing the Saints have taken away since then .
