Make reservations to dine at Emeril's one of the nights. Avoid ACME oyster house. You'll spend an hour standing in line to have raw oysters that taste just like any raw oyster. Go to Bourbon House which is next door instead. Rickey and Leo at the oyster bar can shuck them as well as anyone. Get Leo to shuck some behind his back for you. At night, start at Pat Obriens with a hurricane and then bar hop up the street toward Canal. On Bourbon Street, stay between Canal and St Ann. If you like sushi, hit Rock and Sake on Fulton, near the convention center. Make sure you have lunch somewhere on Bourbon Street on game day because that's where all the action will be.

I like ACME (one in the quarter at least), it's the only place that doesn't drown Rockefeller in spinach and cheese....

The only problem I have with ACME is that there is always a line. All I eat there is raw oysters and they get them from the exact same seafood company as every place on Bourbon Street. Raw oysters are raw, served on a bed of crushed ice with a thing of horseradish and a thing of coctail sauce and some lemmons and saltine crackers. How can you mess that up?

Speaking of the Chargers, anybody know how Big Meach is doing over there? Last I heard he hurt his knee and 'gave them a scare' but since then nothing.

Is he working out as the WR1/2? Haven't seen any of their pre-season action, and I remember liking Meachem since his days as a Vol (even thought they beat the heck outta my Dawgs more than a couple times)

Folks may not believe this, but a long time ago I wanted to find out which was better, Acme or Felix's, to settle the age old dilemma of New Orleans. So one day I went to BOTH, back to back, right across the street from each other, and had a dozen from each

And you know what? They were identical. The oysters were exactly the same! I'm pretty sure they both use P&J oysters. Probably the same truck delivers to both, LOL.

Raw oysters dont all come from the same place and depending on where they are harvested there is a big difference. Acme has its own reefs if im not mistaken and there is a big difference between their oysters and a place like say Dragos who also has their own (another place you cant miss on a visit best char broiled oysters in town. They invented them).P&J is another one. You can tell because there is a difference in salinity, texture, and size. I am not 100% sure acme has its own but i know dragos does. Felixs does not use p&J.I know for sure.

Back on topic, try to take a day/afternoon/evening and just explore. The quarter (all be it a touristy) or Garden District are both good for this. It's usually what I do and works out well....just try to avoid getting shot.
