I did hear that if he hired on somewhere, he would get the difference between his salary and the 3 million.

If we paid him 1 mill, KC would have to fork over 2 mill.

...precisely why it won't be him either.

I was listening to Mike & Mike this morning and they had SP on. He, of course, commented on the DC search, intimating they had sought permission to talk to a couple of other team's position coaches... and that by the end of next week there would likely be a decision on a new DC. IMHO, it'll be either a college DC or an assistant from some other team.

Enjoy this listen.

Romeo may be out of a DC job this season unless some desperate team takes him, reason why most may pass on him is due to the KC clause which may be a red flag to many teams that the end is nearing for him in football altogether, the clause basically is there saying "I dont have to work next season and make 3 mill". I dont think teams want that attitude.

That isn't an attitude, it is a contract... Which translates to a two year contract from the Saints for 1.5m a year, KC pays him 1.5mm a year for the next two years also.

UNTIL Romeo Crennel says (in a cartman voice) "screw you guys i am staying home".. He is wanting to work.

George is very unhappy...

McKayla is not impressed...

Santa Claus is NOT coming to town...

Veruca Salt does NOT want a Rob Ryan...

The Soup Nazi says NO SOUP TODAY!!!

Whacha talkin 'bout Willis?!?

:dunce:

:furious:

...hope I'm wrong and this isn't some hire by Payton to satisfy curiosity of how Ryan, Fujita and Browns stifled them a couple of years ago...

Would Payton be using this to find a mole in the Saints?

Really don't want the evil twin of Sexy Rexy and the Foot Fetish Tour distracting the team...

True, knowing what type of person Crennel is I doubt he wants to just sit around and do nothing just to screw the Chiefs. I get the feeling thats not him.

I do not get all this love for him? Dallas D was not all that great ever during his time there. Not with all the picks playing D there.
i just do not get it. roll the dice and go with an up and comer please.

I haven't seen an article that quotes someone credible saying Ryan will be hired. It's all been 'rob Ryan to be hired, but Payton says he is just being interviewed'

In hs defense (pun intended) the Cowboys were a top 5 defense before numerous injuries set in. They lost 7 starters to injury. Losing seven starters is not insignificant at all.

They still finished 14th overall even with all those injuries.

I wonder how we'd have done if our defense finished middle of the pack?

Good point Danno. If we were ranked 14th next season I'd take it. We just moved up 18 spots!

Considering our offense scores on average 30+ as game.
I'm sure we would have made the NFC Championship
