saints have never been big spenders in FA over the last few years so its a crap shoot but all in all considering the tier 2 and tier 3 players on list we got more than our moneys worth out of most of them

let the market price on CB set itself first is what is going on. no CB have really signed yet so agents are holding the players off till other top CB start signing.

player would need to tell his agent make it happen this is the team i want to play for

Again... Seriously?

I agree that we've had a few good signings, but that list above is watered down with a bunch of crappy players, average players, and undrafted free agents, which do not apply to the discussion.

We haven't had a lot of quantity over the years in free agency, but we've hit some home runs. There's no money for a home run this year. I'm hoping we can land a veteran who'll surprise us like Sharper did. We got lucky that other teams thought he had nothing left. It doesn't have to be a safety, but just someone who'll give us a boost at a good price.

This. You forgot to mention that of those 22 players he listed, 9 of them are no longer even on the team.

I didn't really forget, but he was listing all of what he sees as good free agent signings in recent history, and I'm just not seeing where that list, as a whole, makes a valid point. You're right though, a good bit of them are gone.

Re: Are we looking at anyone???

Part of winning the battle of free agency is stocking up on roll players and mid-level talent. There isn't a team in the NFL that is just slam full of superstars. Hell, the last time a team tried that approach through free agency the Eagles got Andy Reid fired. To ***** about the wins and loses at the mid-level free agency signings is to show an ignorance of how the NFL works. We have a great GM/HC combination. Let them do their job. They have proven to be pretty damn good at it so far.
