Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

I've read that the Jets are interested in Chris Ivory. I think any trade with the Jets that the Saints may have should include Tim Tebow. I know we already have Luke McCown and Seneca Wallace as backups but it wouldn't hurt to bring Tebow in and see what he's got. No doubt he would do better then at least one of the backups we already have.

I though it was a second round tender on Ivory.

The Saints can accept pretty much anything in exchange for Ivory, but if the Jets were to hand Ivory an offer sheet while bypassing the Saints altogether - they'd have to surrender a 2nd rounder if the Saints didn't match that OS.

And a firm NO to the initial question posed by this thread.

Exactly my response. I think I would do physical harm to myself if it were to happen.

Trade for a guy who is guaranteed to get cut and no one is interested in at all? Ummm......no.

We'd be lucky to get a 4th rounder for Ivory. But I would like to see a package where maybe we send Ivory and a late rounder and try to wiggle a 3rd out of it or our 3rd to move to their 2nd. We have + holes we need to fill with cheap players. May as well try to maximize our rookie talent.

Here's where being a rookie gets you beat up. There is nothing, and I repeat nothing remotely impressive about Tim Tebow. He'll will be lucky generating interest in the CFL. The Jet's are gonna drop him on his hind parts as soon as they can and unfortunately for him there's not another team who is gonna pick the phone up. Jamarcus Russel has a better chance of seeing game action before Tebow!!!!

Let this be the last Tim Tebow reference for the whole season and beyond!!!!

EXACTLY but I believe given the weak rb class and Ivory's size and skill set he is as valuable as any RB in the draft! Years ago we would've gotten a 2nd without batting and eye but now teams are using our theory "system of rbs" against us by devaluing our asset even though he is getting a 2nd rd tender but I know their pick 39 is off limits and rightfully so but Ivory in my eyes because I believe he is better than any 3rd rd RB in this draft class so I want the Jets 3rd but only because they're at the top a team at the bottom 3rd of the draft I would want a 2nd rd pick but I look at the number of the pick over what round it is in! WHODAT GET AS MUCH AS YOU CAN WE CAN THROW IN HARPER FOR A SWEETENER!

We don't need Tebow that's a step backward and if they can't give us a 2nd round then we don't need to do business with them, find yourself a running back in the draft don't try to low ball us, and we don't need to give up draft choices We need to gain them and stand firm on our word.

WHY HE'S NOT TAKING SNAPS AWAY FROM DREW! WHY BRING IN A MEDIA DISTRACTION LIKE TEBOW "who has no transferable skills for our anticipating and timing offense not to mention the media baggage" EXACTLY WHAT SEAN PAYTON DESPISES ESPECIALLY IN A BACKUP ROLE PLAYER! No way it happens!

Exactly I said the only reason I can see why they don't want to give up pick 39 but if it's a team in the back half I have to have a 2nd but I would take the Jets 3rd no less and I still might want a conditional late rd pick next year but I say Ivory is worth a top 60 pick and he's better in my eyes than anybody coming out in this yrs draft so if they want a real RB I need value!

Sorry but Tebow is not a QB backup or otherwise. I don't even know why he is still in football. He is useless.

I really like Tebow and think he could be successful in the right situation, i just don't see that being with the Saints.

I like him to but right now the main knock i have on him is the media circus he has following him around. that the last thing the saints need this year.

the saints need a gag order in place not to talk about bounty gate at all. Ignore all questions!

a year of peace is what we need

then bring him in for a look see as a possible #3

yes i actually do. were as he may not be the greatest QB out there but he does have that knack of getting the job done. its one of those strange things either you have the "it factor" or you do not. he just does and that alone will keep around imo. for a while longer at least

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

Tim Tebow needs to play n Arena League I think he would be a decent QB there.... Not n the NFL.... If the saints traded Ivory n we got Tebow I would cry a little bit... I wouldn't except nothin lower than a 3rd for him R mabe a 3nd n next years draft... Say what u want bout his injuries and he is always hurt I think he could be a dominate force on another team he could def be a starter on the Jets... We just have to many RBs he dosen't get the carries he should !

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

I can't figure out for the life of me is to why someone would want Tim Tebow on thier team. Sure I think he is a great gut but I don't want to waste a roster spot on him...
I'd rather have a spare punter or kicker.

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

No Tebow. Fourth round pick in exchange for Ivory. Some people were also saying that Seneca Wallace could run the option in practice. Doesn't it make more since to have a QB, Luke McCown, who can run our offense if Brees goes down and a QB to run the option, Collin Klein, who comes in as an undrafted free agent, runs the practice squad, and doesn't count against the cap?

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

I bet bellichek picks him up and uses him in some capacity, obviously not as a starting qb, but I could see him turning into some sort of hybrid position. as for the Saints, **** no, just a 4th round pick for Ivory.

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

NO! Stick with the 2nd or get a 3rd and a conditional for next year. Maybe a trade exchanging the first rd picks and a 6th?

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

Two threads on this so far and it's all "What If". Throw Sanchez and the other Ryan in too!! The brothers unite and vow to bring down the "other" brother coaching duo in the NFL!! That's right Jim and John, Rex and Rob are callling you out!! I heard Reggie Bush is going to be part of a 6 team 2 division deal!! Who's going to back up Drew? Oh yeah, two guys got signed but neither is an all pro or a beast for that matter.

WHAT - WHy are some of you so hell bent on Tebow?

I dont even want to see him anywhere near NO!!

I had tolisten to Tebow mania for 4 years her ein FLrodia & the love fest has continued for a player that will NEVER be a decent QB In the NFL.

Lets just agree to shut up about Tebow!!

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

How about Ivory to the Jets for a 3rd round but if they give us Tebow as part of the deal then we get a 2nd round

Re: Should Tim Tebow be in Ivory deal with Jets?

Screw their 6th round offer. To me he is worth a 2nd pick. If Ingram was worth a 1st Ivory is worth a second. My opinion.
