Re: Grade The Draft

I keep hearing "we do not have a good track record drafting defensive backs in the first round".

Help me understand the correlation as it applies to the 2013 season please.

Re: Grade The Draft

I'm at that B+ area. I never give a draft an A until I see if draftees' games can translate into the professional level. For instance, I was stoked when we drafted Sed Ellis. Thought he could have been the 2nd coming of Warren Sapp. Instead, he was closely related to tree sap. Another case. Who in the hell is Marques Colston? Third pick away from Mr. Irrelevant? Yeah, no way he makes the team. See where I'm going with this?

Honestly, I love all the picks, even Rufus. Why do I love them? Because needs were addressed. Payton and the front office saw something in these players that would fit with this team. Will they all pan out? Time will tell. Do they look good on paper for what this team is trying to accomplish? Absolutely. Until I see them on the field, then I will hold my grade no higher than a B+ solely for the reasons I stated above. That grade can improve or worsen depending on the players.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Re: Grade The Draft

B to B+ at the moment.

If I see Kenny V. pushing Harper to being better (like Ivory did MI) or taking some of his snaps and outplaying Harper, then I'll say an A.

Re: Grade The Draft

B+ if you include the UDFA class.

Re: Grade The Draft

I think that any draft that you get 3 starters is a good draft. Jenkins eventual starter, Armestead starter,Vaccaro starter.
Preety good draft IMHO

Mealer (De La Puente will get paid like the last 2 FA centers elsewhere next year), Reddick (Vilma makes too much money and Father time is at the door), Griffin (Will win the backup job and thus drop the
combined QB salary on the team to an average of $10-15 million). The Saints will have to continue to hit and play guys like this for cap reasons.

Re: Grade The Draft

I have to admit. I came to this thread just to see what Danno had to say
about the Draft.

You dont need to sleep in a Holiday Inn Express. Just read B&G.
