I'd have to agree with that. And I'm also impressed with the young talent on the team. I personally think the Saints and Devery have played each other out. If he doesn't land at home hopefully he'll pick up elsewhere who needs a solid 3rd or 4th receiver.

Being out of shape and noticeably slower than before were the reasons why the 'Skins released him in the first place - not sure what he could possibly add to the Saints' roster that would be worth even the vet minimum.

Oh this is defintely just making sure that everybody has everybody's current cell phone number, current contact info, and making sure that Devrey will be watching the games on TV, so if a couple of receivers go down unexpectedly, Loomis knows Devery is right there on the couch to take the call.

He may be slow and old and not roster material, but I could totally see Devery doing a wide receiver version of the "Mike McKenzie Special" -- come in as an emergency option late in the season, and fill in passably well for a couple games to keep a Saints roll going, then back off the roster but still a welcome friend on the sidelines etc. like Mike M. did in his last year. If anybody could walk into David Drive on a Tuesday or Wednesday in November and have a decently good game on Sunday, it would be Devery.

If he can get himself in shape it would not be a bad option for the #6 spot or as somebody said a mid-season pickup. He knows the offensive schemes better than anybody not named Colston or Moore.
