Talent leaves if Haz stays???

Not to throw gas on the fire, but it appears we may have players quitting on Haz. If Benson (Loomis) does not fire Haz I could see McAllister wanting out of this town. As well as Brooks, Horn, Howard etc.

We could see an exodus of great players if Benson doesn't do something. Whats the saying about rats and a sinking ship?

Of course if we lose all our big salary star players it would make the team much easier to sell and/or move. It would also make the profits much larger for Tom and his family.

Damnit.........who brought the gas near this fire?
:EVILLE:

But I also envision the same type of exodus

Damn incompetent, money hoarding owner. If I could :greenchainsaw: without getting arrested, I\'d do it!

Question - we\'ll call it a hypthetical....

Imagine a team that has been .500 for years now. They can only be categorized as the most consistently inconsistent team in the league. Every year you get promises and overhauls that lead nowhere but 8-8. Players leave and bad-mouth the organization. Stars in season are fed up and speak out against the coaching staff.

Might it be safe to assume there are some underlying problems with the staff and front office that make this team appear less than professional in the eyes of others around the league? Would you say that the term \"mickey mouse\' often categorizes over unprofessionalism and underachievement?

You might. But if you said \"everyone\" was saying it or that it was being said \"quite a bit\" then you\'d be making things up...and you might get challenged to prove it by someone too... ;)

Let them all leave, at least we win every other game now, I remember when I prayed we would win at least one each year. Haz is gone and I would trade Brooks now, because he is not the leader I thought he would be, especially after attempting to blame the rest of the team for his shortcomings. Let\'s face it his fumble cost us the momentum and the game, period.

So Saintfan - would YOU classify the team as \"well run?\" Or do you think that unprofessional is a better categorization, right now?

saintfan 10-06-2004 09:22 AM

Talent leaves if Haz stays???

Well Run? Well that would depend on which area of the organization you\'re bashing today huh?

But then you and I know where this originated don\'t we? You still can\'t find a single player other than Kyle Turley that made the Mickey Mouse comment. You ran to Gator\'s rescue but couldn\'t rescue him. It\'s ok to fail Whodat...you need to keep trying. That\'s the important thing.

By the way...still waiting for your comments over in Everything Else where your recent chirping really belongs. I responded to your latest post there but you seem to have abandoned the thread. It\'s Ok. I\'m patient. ;)

WhoDat 10-06-2004 11:01 AM

You\'re right Saintfan, Turley is the only person to have ever used the words \"Mickey Mouse\", and if your view is so myopic as to not be able to realize that other players\' comments mean essentially the same thing, then I am sorry for you. For example, can you not see how Cam Cleeland\'s comments echo Turley\'s concerning the professionalism of this organization? I bet not.

Meantime, you continue to try to deconstruct arguments without making any argument to the contrary. You expertly slip direct questions.

Let\'s try it another way. What parts of this organization ARE well run?

My guess is that you cannot make a valid argument beyond the finance and marketing departments. That\'s a shame, considering \"football operations\" is the entire point of it all in the first place. Then again, I bet that you don\'t even try to make an argument - you\'ll attack me or mine without any positive reinforcement for any contrary view.

saintfan 10-06-2004 11:40 AM

The place for your latest \"attack\" (to use Gator\'s words) is over in everything else, where, by the way, I\'ve been waiting for your response for quite a while now. Still waiting.

As for the team being run well, I think tying \"Mickey Mouse\" with a handful of unhappy players is pushing it. I think the coaching leaves a bit to be desired, but to say the team isn\'t \"well run\" or that it\'s a \"Mickey Mouse\" organization is you pushing things just a bit...as usual.

Still waiting over in \"everything else\" by the way. I wonder if you\'ll show up? ;)

WhoDat 10-06-2004 11:52 AM

So your take then is that there is a minor gap in coaching, but otherwise the production of the organization is acceptible and generally in line with what should be expected and desired of an NFL franchise? Yeah, no wonder we always disagree. I find the current operation of the team entirely unacceptible. I guess some guys are just happy being average... :)

Now that WAS a joke...

Boccal 10-06-2004 01:34 PM

Guys I’m sorry to interject my self in this catfight, but I feel I have to. The saints are not well run from the front office down. And anyone that says they are needs to stop fooling him or herself. This team has been terrible, and if it were so well ran why hasn’t the front office interjected? When you have the head coach and the LB coach fighting on the sideline, and you watch a team give up in the middle of a game and you still do nothing…. That’s not well run. What is the most important part of owning a football team? The money generated right? (This is going by the owners view). Well what sells more you spending 1 million dollars on advertising and 8-8 team or you spending 250k on a team that’s in the playoffs? So when you stop to think about the way this team is ran it all starts with the results on the field. If you can’t win then you won’t sell many tickets.
How many owners would just stand by and watch a team get worse and worse? Only Tom Benson.

So then Whodat, I assume it\'s safe to say that you are of the opinion that the Saints are a \"Mickey Mouse\" organization. Add you to the growing list then...Turley, Gator, and you. ;)

Don\'t forget Boccal. Expert skirt of the topic by the way. Let\'s see whose crazy afterall...

I\'m adding myself to the \"Mickey Mouse\" organization list, too saintfan.

I live in Orlando.......I say Mickey Mouse all of the time........it also applies here.

Uh oh Saintfan - looks like the Mickey Mouse following is growing...

saintfan 10-07-2004 09:17 AM

Fine by me. Your fellow moonshiners don\'t qualify as players. The great lie you and Gator tired to pass off was players making that statement...spin as usual Whodat.

WhoDat 10-07-2004 12:58 PM

Talent leaves if Haz stays???

Actually, the \"great lie\" I made was saying A) that players viewed the team as \"Mickey Mouse\", which to me is synonymous with unprofessional, and B) that it in fact is such, or at least perceived to be unprofessional. Seems like you\'re odd man out on this one. Even Danno, who is the closest it comes to seeing things your way, disagrees. You\'re all on your own on this one, and when Haslett gets fired I will be sure to return to this debate and your support of him. What will you say about how I spin things then? LMAO

saintfan 10-07-2004 01:02 PM

Talent leaves if Haz stays???

I\'ll pull up the thread you failed to respond to...you know...the most recent one where you accuse me of having said things I didn\'t say. You remember, the one you skirted.

And, is this a football issue? Really? Or are you breaking your own Whodat Memorial \"You\'re Not Allowed to Hurt My Feelings\" rule?

lMao ;)

WhoDat 10-07-2004 01:35 PM

Talent leaves if Haz stays???

Sure Saintfan, I\'ll let you rest in your own special world where you really won this debate, and I\'ll rest happily knowing that in the poll 20 people agreed with me and 1 agreed with you. You might as well start calling me Emmitt, b/c the smackdown I put on you in this has been worse than the one he put on the Saints last Sunday.

Tell me again about how Haslett will really save the day?

The Saints were beaten by the Cardinals. Mikey Mouse does not come to mind, Minney Mouse does!
