Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Hey guys, seeing Vick Ballard go down, the Colts are in a really bad RB situation. Any trade possibilities that you see?

Khiry Robinson? Travis Cadet? Do they have any Defensive pieces that might be interesting for us?

If we get short on corners they have vontae davis who has good ball skills, otherwise im not really sure on who they have

They'll probably just work out a free agent RB like the Giants did and see if he sticks. Less costly for them to give up a player or draft pick unless they just really have someone highly scouted on another team.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Yeah. While trading always sounds nice, at this point it's probably only going to happen with a team that feels like they have a legitimate chance at making a run at a Super Bowl. Indy was fine last year with Ballard and Brown, & now they have Bradshaw and Brown. I wouldn't suspect any trades to go on there just yet. I also don't like the suggestion of Khiry Robinson being traded. The kid was an UDFA that had a flashy preseason. At best, he would get us a 6th round pick or an equivalent prospect. I like his upside a little more than that.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

I think Indy have a very legitimate shot at a Superbowl. The Texans have a history of choking and were less than stellar in their season opener (although so were Indy). It would not surprise me if Indy won the AFC South. With the AFC East and AFC North being a complete mess, a #2 overall seed for winning that division is possible.

I can see Indy being interested in a deal for someone a bit more long-term. Khiry Robinson and Travaris Cadet have already both been mentioned in the media. There are a number of free agent options who may also fit the bill. I am not entirely sure what we would want in return though. It would have to be a promising trade for trade player, otherwise a pretty decent draft pick/conditional.

I'll stick my neck out and say they end up taking on a Free Agent but don't rule out a couple of phone calls into Mickey Loomis just yet :)

Most people thinking about trades quickly jump to what we want. Think about what you have that they want first, then decide what you are willing to give up, then you decide what you want.

So Indy wants a RB, you are willing to trade K. Robinson, what do you think Indy is going to give for an undrafted rookie running back that has never played a down in regular season football? Ill turn the table on you, you wake up and Sean Payton has traded any of our players for an undrafted rookie that has never played a down. I would be just a little upset.

Out of curiosity, why those two? What are you hoping to get with an unproven rookie RB? Are you just trying to help Indy or do you want to make us better with someone that can play next week?

Why would Indy want to trade for either of those when they could PU any free agent RB or grab someone with potential off of someone's practice squad and not have to give anyone up?

I just came across some articles and Cadet and Robinson have been mentioned a couple of times!

The year the Dolphins drafted Davis I was wishing it was us.

So a 1st round 24th over all draft pick with starting experience for an UDFA?

No trade.

I don't like Ingram all that much but we are going to need him at some point in the season. Sit back and relax already.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Robinson likely has no trade value and Cadet probably doesnt either. That leaves Ingram and if an Ingram trade was going to go down it would have already happened.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

why all the trade talks? we have one proven vet a 3rd year back yet to catch on and two unproven rookies. unless you pull a wabbit out the hat as a replacement or have one of the rookies step up i would not make the move at rb

I think this may be because Werner is from Germany originally and our poster is from Austria :) I'm confident he doesn't believe this is a viable trade!

Also how come nobody has mentioned Ingram being traded? I assumed everyone would be on that bandwagon :)

I figured Ingram hasn't been brought up in here because it is in every other thread LOL.

I was following in the "Ingram free" spirit. :)

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

If I were to trade Ingram at all right now but if I did it would be like a Cedric Benson type of back if anything. A 3 down back that would bolster our run game, just imagine the weapons would open up for Brees to throw to. To me that would be the best of both worlds offensively.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Trading isn't always about being SB bound most times its for future. Ingram is the most likely to get traded because teams have college tape and a good length of NFL tape. I just want to be running over teams like the Vikings

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Colts wouldn't want Ingram, he doesn't really fit what they do. Cadet would be a great fit for them but he's more valuable on our roster right now than anything we could get for him in a trade.

Damn guys this is not fantasy football. Teams don't just trade at the drop of a hat.

i say we would be lucky to get a third. if we are to trade him do it with the draft in mind. ie draft day

3.8 ypa lifetime, 1.2 in the falcons game.

A third would be a steal.

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Alright, alright...I got THE solution.

B. Werner and Vontae Davis for RG 1, Ingram, and Patrick Robinson. Throw in our Special Teams Coordinator McMahon, too. It could possibly work in a Tecmo Bowl world.

I'm pretty sure the Colts will test the FA market for a RB, as it has already been said on this thread.

Ya think they might Ingram?

Re: Colts RB problems - Trade possible?

Nobody is going to take him for less than a 5th and thats being optimistic. Best thing to do with him is deactivate him and give someone else a shot on game day.
