SF Offensive Stats Reveal Key to the Game

The 49ers are 22nd in the league in total offense. Not awful, but not really what you would expect from a play-off calibre team defending an NFC title. SanFran is an impressive 4th when it comes to running the ball, averaging 4.5 ypc, and almost 148 yards per game.

So where does it fall apart? SF is dead last in passing, about 175 yards per game, or roughly HALF of what P. Manning throws for each week. Kaepernick's completion rate of 56.4% is in the bottom quarter, and only 4 teams have fewer TD passes. Added to CK's issues this week are a very depleted WR corps, an injured TE, and a hostile road environment.

Dear Rob: put 8 in the box and send pressure. Lots of pressure
