I don't know man I wouldn't say where out of this yet

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I mean if we can manage to beat denver sweep, carolina, split with Atlanta and beat Dallas and Tampa where back in it. Of course we most likely will have to deal with Haslett for the rest of his tenure though. ...

Of course we most likely will have to deal with Haslett for the rest of his tenure though. If you realise after Denver we mostly have our division. I must say I don't see Tampa sweeping us I would like too see this streak continue. They have never sweeped us and hope it does not happen this year. I have one other thing to say this would mean that the Saints would have to at least have one 3 game winning streak which they have only had 2 in Brooks tenure as a Saint. The Saints had 2, 3 game winning streaks in 2002. Since than it seems they have only been able to sustain two wins than a loss the following week. Well I guess we will see GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!C

Well come on Euphoria you have to leave some doubt it\'s the Saints. It took me along time to learn not to get excited about the season till where in the playoffs. It really hit home when we went 5-0 in 93 only to end up 7-9.

doubting your own prediction? wait... i see not a prediction but a possibility, i got it. I think it will play out in the last game of the season -Saints down by 7, a play of the ages happens and the Saints score on a touch down as time runs out, the extra point to tie and send it to over time to keep the play off hopes alive and WAIT!!! HE MISS\"s it. OOOPS my bad that was last year.

No actually that was the game before the last game. The saints won there last game of the season. Infact they almost got there first shutout since 95 when they beat Dallas the last game of the season. Looks like the only team the Saints might keep to under 20 points this year is Carolina.

Oh optimist eternal, what would it all mean?

As someone else stated our defense is so porous that it makes SpongeBob jealous. I mean we held the Chiefs to just under 500 yards! and gave up only 186 yards to a backup running back! Great effort from the defense!

So we outshoot the competition the rest of the way. It\'s true that in the last 7 games we play 3 poor teams, 1 marginal team (TB), and 3 games against playoff contenders. The hated Falcons are only within shooting distance because we play them twice down the stretch.

But this Saint team has proved nothing yet. They have both beaten and lost to teams that they were supposed to beat. And they have been decimated by marginal to playoff teams (Minnesota and San Diego).

So I bet it\'ll be 3-4 or 2-5 down the stretch ending in a 6-10 or 7-9 season.

But let\'s get back to fantasyland. We outshoot Denver and Atlanta. We take care ot TB, Carolina, and Dallas. We go 5 and 1.

Now what? We still lose the division to atlanta by a game. We are probably still behind Minnesota, GB, or the Seahawks, or even the Cards for the last playoff spot. Even if we get in, it\'ll be with the worst defense in the NFC in both points and yards.

Am I the only one that understands that this system is broken and needs to be overhauled?

I\'ve stopped thinking about playoffs. To quote the always entertaining Jim Mora \"PLAYOFFS?!!?!!\". I just hope to watch competive entertaining games win or lose. I understand that our defense cannot consistently compete with elite teams in the NFL. Let\'s not forget that our defense has given up an average of 484 yards and 31 points in the last 4 games, giving up at least 400 yards and 20 points in each of the last 4 games. But they eeked out a 2-2 record. Like I said entertaining.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
