My list of potential head coaches

Dan Reeves -- Has loads of positive experience --- is a proven winner --- a miracle worker for quarterbacks --- can definitely get the team to score early and often ---

Nick Saban --- loads of NFL experience -- a local hero who will give the fans something to cheer about.

Here is what I am leaning towards... Haslett.

Yes I said it... all he really is is a decision maker. The final word if you will when its game time. You get Randy back and then let him work replacing OC and DC, along with LB, WR, DB coaches, obviously he\'ll bring in the talent. I mean teams are going to have its bad years and good years no matter who is the HC, Pittsburg may very well be on to something and it maybe just that we don\'t have a supporting cast around the coach on the organizational side or staff wise. So fixing everything around Haslett maybe not a bad idea, he did well when Randy was here...

:sulkoff:

I\'ll take a salvo, too ... but Euph I\'m in agreement with you on some levels.

I\'ll be the first to admit that I\'ve been rippin\' Haz early and often lately (still doing it on the \"Caption\" post), but I\'ve been giving it serious thought lately. I placed Haz #5 on my list, because after those four I put ahead of him, I\'d just as soon keep him.

I don\'t want Fassel, Reeves, J. Johnson, Shell, or any of the other number of old goats. I don\'t want an unproven college coach. I don\'t want a recent failure like Wannstedt or Davis. If I thought the needed changes would be made, I would\'ve placed Haslett higher on my list than I did.

I can\'t get over wanting to see Haslett do well. I admittedly wonder if he\'s capable of doing so sometimes, but I equally wonder if anyone we\'re gonna get will be any better.

Again, \"sometimes the devil you know...\"

I couldn\'t agree with you more, vis-a-vis wanting Haslett to succeed. However if he stays then so does Brooks. I think Brooks has become a locker room scapegoat. I\'m not there, but I can read between the lines, and I can certainly watch the games.

It\'s like they want him to lose!!!
I sense a friction between him and almost everybody else. If Haslett does what he said they were \'thinking\' about last week. If he puts \'Booman\' in this week, and the team responds by elevating their play. Then I would consider him an option for next year. Don\'t get me wrong, I am not trying to agitate the \'Brooks\' camp, but it is obvious that we should at least experiment with Bouman.
It is not because Bouman is remotely better, but it would give Jim a chance to take his blinkers off, and see their is an offensive world without Aaron as well.

Aaron\'s play has not been any worse than the rest of the team, sometimes it\'s been better, but if I am gonna take Haslett serious for next year, he has to show a willingness to change key components to this team, the present recipe just isn\'t working!!!!

So this Sunday let\'s all cross our fingers that we get to see a bit of Bouman, we\'ve no longer got anything to lose.

All this conjecture about a head coaching change is fine and good, but it we DO NOT GET RID OF LOOMBOOM we are well and truly screwed. I\'m with whoever said \"whoever Scott Pioli wants.\"

Until Tom Benson dies or hands the reigns over to Rita, this franchise will be run by Arnold (sell tickets) FieldCow and will look like Benson Toyota in SanAntonio.

We need a football man in charge, pure and simple.

What about Jim Johnson from Philly? He would immediatly fix the defensive problems that exist. His defense has been very good for years, even with big named players leaving. He plugs new guy in there and doesnt miss a beat.
