The Patriots might not be the best drafting team but at least they have a ton of picks to work with. I'm for the drafting strategy that the Patriots use...tons of picks to work with, plus it gives you more leverage to trade up or down or trade established players. The odds are in your favor to hit with more picks, I reckon, kinda like at the casino.

Let me rephrase...the odds are still piled waaay against you in the casino, but the more numbers you cover on the roulette table the odds are better that you hit a winner eventually.

Unless there's a little ol' magnet under the wheel.

We gamble at draft time too often. It's got to stop and we need a more reliable approach.

Then why do so many of our draft picks suck?
