We won the game and the trade! We are 10 points away from being 6-1. We are allowing 116 yards per game rushing and if you take out the 75 yard run the first game and the fact that we only allowed 74 yards rushing today we are way better against the run this year and even better from the start of this season. We are 6th in fewest penalties, we are 6th in points scored, we are 2nd in total YPG, we are even in giveaways/takeaways, we've only lost 3 fumbles, only 5 interceptions, Brees is 4th in QB rating, we are 49% on 3rd downs and only 1 game out by the end of the day. Things are looking up fellas!

Re: The Graham-Unger Trade

After watching this video, I'd say we got the better end of the deal...

Now to get Stephone Anthony back as our starting Mike...

Re: The Graham-Unger Trade

Unger alone made the trade worthwhile; he's been better than expected...

That said, we lose some in the trade if we don't get Stephone Anthony back, healthy, starting and playing like a first round pick...

Dennis Allen and the coaching staff still fails if they don't get this situation with Anthony turned around...

All the smoke is still clearing.
These things are never really settled.
Jimmy wanted BIG money, and had to go. He earned the right to ask for it.
Our TE play hasn't been the same since he's been gone.
And to kick him for being out for injury is just something none of these guys can control.
Unger has definitely been a plus.
I still have a hard time buying into a "player" that can't play 4-3/3-4.
As poorly as we tackle and get gashed on cut-backs, it's amazing.
Players can just play. Tacklers can just tackle. Hitters can just hit.
Good feet can just avoid all the ground clutter and get to the football.
Anthony is a player. You can't teach speed and a nose for the ball.
There has to be something else there.

I'm not sure the average tells the entire story. Defensive scoring has been trending down over the last month:

38, 27 (including a pick-6), 20 (including a scoop and score for 6)

The defense hasn't given up more than 20 points in the last two games.

The tanker seems to be turning in the right direction. Hopefully playing SF will accelerate the pace of progress.

You're right in that it's a slow turn to get thing flowing in the right direction...

And we do have good players starting at cornerback, but these guys are castoffs of other teams; and they're not helped by a pedestrian pass rush...

But the mis-tackles, missed coverage assignments, exchanges (specifically J Byrd), ball awareness are players still thinking, watching rather than playing with instincts, reacting - and we're still giving up big plays, late in games...

It's both skill set and what a player was taught and has played through college ...

Either way, the Saints need to reign in Dennis Allen and/or get a position coach who gets Stephone Anthony back on the field and at the Mike, leading this team, producing, making plays...
