Saints Sign DT Tony McDaniel
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Nobody saw the Nick Fairley situation. Thinking we bring in someone else once the rosters get refined. This is more of a patch effort. Not the worse situation. Something better will develop....

He didn't suck but didn't make any waves either. Just a plug for a hole in the hull. We are going to find another body once rosters shake out.

2016 was one of his best seasons as a Pro (see Saints vs Seattle last year- 2 assist, 2 solo tackles) on a stacked D line. He's also one hell of a run stuffer. He'll definitely compete with Davison and Onyemata for the top backup spot at DT.

Fairley was the better run stopper and Onyamata is the better pass rusher I believe. So he can help Davison with the rotation to stay fresh hoefully.

Fairley was a beast, great run stuffer and equally as good rushing the passer. Hopefully, Onyamata and Rankins step it up another notch. The line is still the strength of the defense. Biggest question mark is the linebackers
