Joe Horn signs new contract?!!!

To be honest I wish every player would just renegotiate their contracts every year. NFL contracts aren\'t worth the paper they are written on. Since future years aren\'t guaranteed anyway and base salaries always climb in the later years, I have no problem with lessening our cap hit by reworking our players contracts yearly. Our FO needs to be doing something with their time since they aren\'t going out and getting any superstar FA\'s during free agency anyway.

This is awesome! I love Joe Horn! This is the best Saints offseason in a while. If they find some way to get DJ, I won\'t take off my Saints visor for a month!

It would be the best offseason ever!

How does the signing bonus figure into cap hit? Is it 8 mil over 6 yr or is it 4mil the first and 3 mil the sec?

So if you spread $8 million over 6 years that\'s $1.25 million per year on average. Add in his salaries of 750K and 1 mill, and his average cap his will be $2 -$2.25 million per year????

So he actually costs the Saints LESS? (at least until 2007). Glad everybody on this site was ready to trade him a month ago. :casstet:
Aw c\'mon WhoDat.
The VAST majority of folks here said we should re-negotiate his contract to make it less of a cap hit.

EVERYBODY? If i\'m not mistaken some folks thought he should be paid Moss/Harrison money. Most disagreed with that and suggested if he did show him the door.
Well guess what? He ain\'t getting Moss/Harrison money.

We did EXACTLY what everybody wanted us to do a month ago. It was a win-win. Why try to blame everybody for something that never was?
Couldn\'t have said it better myself.......i am happy for how it worked out for both parties. It is clearly not top 5 money!
