Tommylee Lewis returns to practice; Michael Thomas not spotted

Tommylee Lewis is working on coming back.

The Saints wide receiver took part in Wednesday’s practice, which indicates he has been selected to return from injured reserve. He will be eligible to participate in a game after two weeks of practice, which would put him back against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The wide receiver and return man suffered a knee injury during a Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns. Taysom Hill has since handled returning kickoffs, while Alvin Kamara has returned punts.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas and defensive linemen Mitchell Loewen (back) and Marcus Davenport (toe) were not spotted at practice. The official injury report will not come out until later this evening.

Teams are allowed to bring back two players from injured reserve each season. New Orleans also has wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. and cornerback Patrick Robinson on injured reserve.

Meh ...

If bringing TLL back is to keep Kamara off punt returns I get it .. but still.

I would have kept Brandon Tate. He'd earned that responsibility in camp.

No kidding. It’s not like we have any other receivers that can step up. Guess we are going to see what Carr is made of.

I agree. This definitely is not a good sign going into next Sundays game. This could easily be a preview of the NFC championship. I hope it was a minor precaution and the coaching staff are just trying to get them some rest.
