NFL QB Challenge 2005 rumor and possible spoiler

Not saying this is true, but I heard it on another forum. The rumor is Jake Delhomme won.

Why am I not surprised? Delhomme was a GREAT QB in College. He held and maybe still holds some NCAA QB records. His talent has always been underrated. What I find strange is the Delhomme wasn't 2nd in line over Brooks when Hazlett started. That was because McCarthy blew a lot of smoke up Hazlett's stove pipe about Brooks' "potential." Sad mistake on Hazlett's part. Delhomme was a part of the Ditka regime and therefore a "Locker Room Cancer." Sad Day.

But it's still just a rumor though. I am not claiming this as fact or truth. Just something I read.

Who cares we knocked them out the playoffs! :P

J/J Congrats to Jake... was always a fan favorite down here. He got his oppurtunity a couple of years ago and capitalized on it. It sucks that the same can't be said about someone else.

TO BE HONEST............I DON'T THINK JAKE IS THAT GREAT OF A QB............HES JUST AVG. TO ME.........THE ONLY THING I LIKE ABOUT HIM AND THE ONLY REASONA I WOULD EVER CHOOSE JAKE OVER AB IS THAT HE DON'T FUMBLE THE BALL LIKE AB DO....OTHER THAN THAT HES NOT ANY BETTER ANY OTHER AVG. QB IN THE NFL....

I won't get into the grammar of the statement, but I do remember Jake fumbling quite a bit against us in last years finale....

You make a good point Dberce. In that finale I really saw a different side of the Uber boy from LA. He looked really rattled and threw a couple of ridiculously dangerous passes. Brooks didn't exactly sizzle, but he lived up to the occasion and played with pretty good composure. Hmmm..... maybe the tide is turning on this beloved debate here on the board. Lets see what happens opening week........

Jake's numbers are across the board better than AB's, but he won't get any love here, cause we made the wrong choice, and some will never admit that and look for reasons to down the man. And he is a Louisiana native. Bottom line, any way you slice it, he is a better QB than AB PERIOD. Wow, he looked rattled in the season finale with his two best RBs and best receiver out, and a makeshift O-line that was in max protect all season. String him up. AB looked 100 times worse with all his players around him. I wonder did AB looked rattled when he threw the backwards pass, or led the league in red sone turnovers, and gave a TD to John Mobley or whomever.
