Why? What has he done that warrants more than a 2nd round pick? Sounds fair to me! Teams build their team around first round picks. I wouldn\'t build a team around someone as unstable as Turley.

I think the Saints got hosed. I cant believe a team like Balt, Carolina SD, some team that needed a tackle didn\'t step up. Turley did not help the situation with his comments though. The team and him should have just got together to keep his mouth shut while they were trying to trade the guy.

Turley sounds a lot like my ex-wife :P 2nd round pick is fine with me, though I wish it had been in this year\'s draft. Now we\'ve cleared out a bit of cap room, so let\'s go after Tebucky.

I don\'t particularly like the deal, but then again if it\'s the only deal they could get - show him the door. We had to lose Turley.

I am glad to see him go and if that was the only way so be it. Although I think we should have been able to get a bit better pick than we did. Attitude towards the Saints organization may not translate to another team. His on field antics, and although he wasn\'t the only one who appeared to quit at the end of the season, he was one of the offenders. Since the Rams aren\'t in our division, I wish them luck.

he\'s saying orlando pace is gonna be lined up at left tackle? i thought pace wanted to be traded out of st. louis. i seriously doubt they will pay that 85 million dollar contract with a 23 million dollar signing bonus.

They shot themselves in the foot with the huge contract they gave Turley. Pace\'s agent will now demand at least 50% more money than Turley got - Pace plays left tackle, has been in St. Louis his whole career and is basically a better player.
Offensive linemen have gotten too little respect in the past, but right now they are getting a little too much IMHO.

Saints got what they could. Turley was a goner after next year if he stayed anyways. Bottom line...if someone doesn\'t wanna be here they need to be gone.

A - they signed Turley just like we signed Gandy. That\'s a signal if you ask me. Pace and his $23 million bonus demand are gone.

B - I agree completely with lumm0x from his other post. The Saints very well could have agreed in principle with the Patriots on a 2nd rounder in \'04 for Jones. That way, the Saints get rid of the Turley headache and can possibly pick up Jones without affecting their current draft position. Good move, if that\'s what happens.

i have returned.... been gone for a few days, n this is the first news ive gotten of turley being traded. i think the move is good and bad. good that we got rid of our problem player, and bad in that we only got a 2nd rounder in next years draft. is the pick conditional? if no one knows, ill find out soon enough, im glad he is gone tho, im ready for some drafting to go on, on that topic.... i think the players that we will pick up in the draft always have a solid chance to start on our team and make a solid contribution and im lookin forward to seeing what happens with those new players
