New Orleans Saints starters won't take day off against Carolina Panthers

The Saints will play to win Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Although they could opt to rest some starters in the regular-season finale, Coach Sean Payton said he doesn't want to give up the Saints' chance at the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs, and he doesn't want to mess with the momentum they've built during their seven-game win streak.

"We're playing some of our best football here the last few weeks. There's some value to that," said Payton, who said he doesn't plan to keep an eye on the scoreboard to see what's happening between the San Francisco 49ers and St. Louis Rams at the same time Sunday.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

I hate this game, the Panthers will be on their toes in this one, Scam Newton would like to get some glory. We don't need to over-look the Panthers, we need to play our football and we're fine. I hope Gregg Williams makes a special project out of Fig- Newton in this game and our D wrecks havoc on him all day. They are our division foe and I don't want them to have any steam going into next year at all.And who knows the Rams could pull an upset and we end up with momentum and the #2 seed.

I know... We've been in our new house a month, and still havent unpacked.
Plus I have a gig Sat. night, and was going to sleep in the backseat on the way to the game. Plus hotels are jacked up this weekend. I just said, "not this weekend." Normally, I have my priorities straight.

Even though I am sort of split on this one, I think it is the right move. Otherwise you would be conceeding the 2nd seed spot to the 49ers & they could end up resting there starters. Let's hope everyone stays healthy and we keep the momentum going.
