First of, let me start out by saying this is not intended to be a finger pointing blog. I hope it reopens your eyes to being a Saints fan.

I understand that many are worried about our team. Some expect or demand perfection from this team. Guys and Gals....it's just not going to happen. Some of the press calls the "whoas" the Saints are going through "The SuperBowl Hangover". I don't think it is the team going through it....I think we, the fans are still having the SuperBowl Hangover.

For 42 years we haved suffered unto other NFL teams and their fans. We sucked people. Point blank. Now that we have tasted, witnessed, and the dream has finally become reality...I don't think we as fans now how to look at our team anymore. It's as if the other 42 years never happened. We see this team as perfection and they should score 55+ points a game and our oppositions should have 0. Come on people. Every guy in the NFL is the best of the best at every aspect of the game.

The Saints have a target on their backs this year. Until someone wins the Superbowl this year, the Saints are the Champions of the NFL! That means teams will study game film hard. Practice harder. Be more determined to to show the rest of the NFL teams that "HEY, we beat the Champs!". To me I feel they are and have handled the pressure perfectly. I can't say the same for us as fans. I think it's almost like we have a little voice inside our heads that is telling us, "If the Saints lose a game, they are going to be the laughing stock of the NFL and you are going to be a dumbbutt to everyone because you just bought all that Saints gear. "

My fellow B&G brothers and sisters. I ask you to try and do one thing....enjoy this time right now. Relax. Enjoy the close wins. I'm by no means not telling anyone to stop cussing at the TV or from the stands at bad plays. I think that has to be a staple in being a Saints fan. However, I don't expect 2009 to relive itself in 2010. This is a new year. A new team. All I ask is for all of us to sit down. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Even if at the end of the road, TWO DAT becomes reality or not. Enjoy it!

Nicely put. I remember when the Bills went four times in a row and lost each time. What we have is a gumbo that has been simmering for 43 years, and every body wants some. The longer the wait the better the pay off I say. I hope folks don't get whinny like the spoiled rotten Steeler fans when they come up short.

I disagree completely. The Falcons beat us. They did so because we allowed them to do it. We would be 3-0 but by our own accord. Atlanta didn't study film and beat us through the determination of beating the defending Super Bowl champs. We lost because we are not playing championship calibre football. 40+ years of losing notwithstanding, we are right to expect our team to play MUCH better than it has played thus far.

I'm not about to give this year's team a pass on poor play because previous teams didn't measure up - I fail to grasp that concept.

The fact is the offense is sputtering. The Vikings game should not have been so close. San Francisco was doing quite well in "poor passing conditions", and Atlanta's Falcons used their TE to exploit our defense for 4 quarters.

Rarely have I been pessimistic about my New Orleans Saints, and I'm not saying the sky is falling, but I believe too many people are willing to overlook things because we, as a group, are proud of what last year's team was finally able to accomplish.

This is a new year, a new team, and, unfortunately, thus far different results are being seen. I am frustrated because we aren't playing with swagger. We aren't playing with the same passion, the same immediacy, the same heart.

Unfortunately, our losses are squarely on our own shoulders. They are not the result of being game planned as Champions.

I don't agree with the idea, that for 42 years we sucked either. I remember some very good seasons with Mora as coach, and some very great players back then. Did we win a play off, or a superbowl? No, but I definately got "spoiled", watching great defense with the dome patrol every week. I don't understand why people seem to think we never won a game before 09.

The point of the blog was the below qoute. Saintfan and SaintPaul; I agree with most of the statements you made.

I can not tell you how to feel about this season, or seasons past. I can only remember the "This is our year(s)"; yes, when the Saints were winning; but when it came to the "Big" games....they would blow it. I, like everyone else, would cuss and vow to never watch another Saint game. Then that next Sunday or next season, there I would be....sitting in my chair and expecting the best.

    My point is simply this.

Do I expect more from this team? Your Damn right I do. Are they playing like they are still hungry for another SuperBowl? In my opinion, NO. Injuries are kicking our but right now. However, after 38 years I will not lose hope. Re-read the below.
