Do Your Job.

'Do your job' ... 'Do your job' ... it's a simple theory really, and when you think about it, a brilliant piece of absentia-coaching by Sean Payton that just lets you know everything is going to be alright.
How often have you heard that, 'Do your job'? When I watched the NFL video in http://blackandgold.com/saints/46768...-your-job.html
I thought about all the times I had heard or used that phrase ... times born of challenge and adversity when nothing less then a maximum effort and attention to detail would suffice ... times when things got so stupid or out-of-control, all you had left was to knuckle-down and 'do your job'.
'Do your job' ... it removes the distractions and puts you in a position to succeed ... 'don't worry about what's going on around you, just do your job' ... keeps it simple and doesn't overcomplicate things. It emphasizes teamwork & esprit de corps ... 'you do your job, he does his job, everyone does their job, we get the job done' ... it promotes focusing on the task at hand and only the task at hand ... 'don't think about what just happened, just do your job' ... it directs you to know your responsibilities, carry them out and have faith in your teammates to do the same ... 'do your job, don't let your teammates down' ... it takes the heat off the interim coaching staff by placing individual & collective responsibility on the players in the absence of H/C Sean Payton and A/C Joe Vitt ... 'coach ain't here, do your job' ... it inspires, it encourages self-reflection, it promotes solidarity and unity ... it gives the team cause and direction, rallying them around Sean Payton, even in his absence ... it's brilliant.
'Do your job' ... add that kind of culture and conviction to the talent on the Saints roster and you have a winning combination ... bet.
