Things I noticed this weekend...
Notre Dame isn't as good as I thought.
Auburn is the team to beat in the SEC. Though we saw Tennessee man handle Cal, Cal missed tons of easy tackles and they have no decent quarterback. It was a good win, one which I predicted, but don't put too much stock into it. LSU and Auburn are still better than them. USC will remain a powerhouse. Just as they did with losing Palmer, Williams, Leinart, Bush, White, Cody, Patterson, Tatupa, etc... it doesn't matter. They pretty much land the top recruiting class every year and it's ridiculous. Under Pete Carroll, I can never see them not being in the top 10 for the next decade. Believe all the hype surrounding West Virginia... they are that good. It wouldn't surprise me to see them go undefeated this season. And for people who like to bet on football such as myself, they are a money maker. Dan Hawkins era in Colorado started off extremely depressing losing to a division 2 team. Wow. I thought they were going to start off with a bang installing that high powered spread offense... I guess I was wrong. Ohio State and Texas is going to be a better game than I thought. Ohio State's run D is suspect against Texas' running game. I thought Ohio State was going to have this one in the bag... but I've changed my mind. It's going to be a close game. Ohio State by less than 7. Chris Leak is not the quarterback for Meyer's offense. He's good an all but that offense will never reach it's full potential with him. Leak is a pure pocket passer... Tebow is the guy. |

One more thing to add...
JaMarcus Russell's arm is too strong. If he does not succeed in the NFL, he should definately consider becoming a pitcher. I bet he has easy mid to high 90's gas. Didn't catch that hit... probably had it on the Notre Damn game which was boring as hell. |

Russell is rumored to have once thrown a goal-line to goal-line pass during practice

OK guys I will admit it. Born and raised in Arkansas and I loved the Arkansas/Texas games back in the 70's with Lou Holtz as Coach. During those days it was tradition if you did not go to the game to have everybody around the TV to watch it and call the Hogs. I had high hopes Saturday night for my Hogs but they are still waiting for the next QB or RB. At least it was better than the 70-17 last year.

Mitch will be special there. You guys have the quarterback... he just need a year or two. Being in the SEC is tough though... with all the powerhouses. No matter how much you improve or better you recruit, if you aren't LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, and Bama... you pretty much have no chance.

Oh yeah I know about him. The Arkansas Sports Press are thinking if not this year!!!!! Next year for a fact.
He just needs to get that High Powered Arm working really fast. I don't know why they didn't get him in there faster for the USC game. Paul |

You were way off on the Ohio State vs. texas game! Leave this type of thing to the Experts...Ohio state by less than 7? 7 is all Texas could post, at home! Don't be messing with Ohio football. We do two things great in the Buckeye state...Win football games..and Win national championships.
