LSU was a clear favorite among media to win the SEC title and landed four players on the preseason All-SEC team in voting at SEC Media Days in Hoover.

LSU received 54 of the 80 votes cast for conference champion but that could be the kiss of death for the Tigers. Only twice (Florida in 1994 and 1995) in the past 15 years has the media pick for league champion actually won.

Florida was second with seven votes. LSU got 63 of 80 votes to win the West Division.

Here is how the media selected the SEC.:

SEC Champion: LSU (54 first place votes), Florida (7), Arkansas (5), Auburn (4), Alabama (3), South Carolina (3), Tennessee (2), Georgia (2).
