PAC 10 looking at Big 12 Schools

Sure would shake up the landscape of college football but might be the start of a playoff in college football. If it were to bring about a playoff system then I'm all for it as long as they don't jack with the SEC unless the SEC could land UT |

Re: PAC 10 looking at Big 12 Schools
The six teams they are talking about could just as easily join the sec instead, thereby forming a supermega conference. The rest of the ncaa would never recover.

I suspect this is all Notre Dame's fault. I wish they'd join the Big 10, it'd be a win-win, and the Big 10 could be happy and wouldn't need to pry teams out of other conferences. Big 12 would be awful weak if they took out NE and Mizzou and the financial implications would be huge.

Just great the Big 12 is being pillaged! All in the name of the almighty dollar!
This may be a real stupid question - but doesn't this also affect the other men's and women's athletics, not just football? Has anybody thought about that?! |

Looks more imminent now.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=5270048 UT and OU should go to the SEC for sure. | |

It's official - Huskers join the Big 10. I'm not sure how to explain this to my kids without them missing math questions - the Big 12 now has 10 schools (for now) and the Big 10 has 12.

Re: PAC 10 looking at Big 12 Schools
I actually think its the first step in creating a playoff system or a more consolidated champion. I like the moves. You get to have conference championships in all the conferences, which to me is very important in the whole scheme of things. A playoff system of conference champions would be beautiful; and maybe have 1 or 2 teams from non bcs conferences thrown in the mix.

What happens for instance when Texas has to travel to Wash St for baseball or volleyball? Not fun.
