LSU football: Tigers QB Jordan Jefferson hopes fans will be patient
Baton Rouge - LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson said Monday he's looking forward to Saturday's home opener against Mississippi State and hopes LSU fans will be "realistic" about his struggles in the Tigers' 27-3 victory against Vanderbilt.
"Playing at home is always great, we've always got the fans behind us," Jefferson said. "They will support us to the fullest. Loud crowd, that's what we've been wanting. "I would just hope the fans will really be realistic. I'm a college player. I'm still working, still learning. I'm still trying to do my best that I can to help this team improve. I'm doing everything I need to do every week in practice, every day in practice just to improve us. I would hope they would keep faith in me and still have (give me) . . . time to wait for me to help the offense." Jefferson was off target most of the night in the worst performance of his 16 career starts. He threw an interception in the end zone to kill an LSU drive, and fumbled twice in the first eight plays. The performance prompted LSU coach Les Miles to pull Jefferson in the fourth quarter with LSU leading 20-3 in favor of backup Jarrett Lee. read more | |

We've been patient with him for two years already. I'm tired of being mediocre. I'm tired of waiting. He's asking for us to be patient with him so he can eventually help the offense... are you serious? We're trying to win football games here. He needs to understand that he is not helping this football team right now. We can't have a quarterback leading our offense that lacks self confidence and afraid to make mistakes.
I hope to see Jarrett Lee early and often. |

i hate to say it, but if we lsu fans have come to believe that JARRET LEE is our savior then we are all in for a rude awakening. this team isnt much beter than last years. the defense appears to be better which is good, but we do not have a qb. i do agree, id like to at least see LEE get a shot. but i doubt he'll be any better if not worse.

I don't think he's our savior by any means... but I do believe he's a better quarterback than Jordan Jefferson. This team is much better than last years team IF we can get get any sort of consistent quarterback play.
Our offensive line is much better than last years. Our receivers are much better than last years. Our core of running backs are much better than last years. Our defensive line is much better than last years. Our linebackers are much better than last years. Our secondary is about what and what with last years. Our quarterback play remains the same. Overall this team is better than last years team... we just need to start moving the ball on offense and it all starts under center. That and the dumb play calling by Crowton. |
