Ok, why do Indians (I'm sure not ALL of them, just a few vocal separatists, I'm sure) get offended by their use as a mascot?

First of all, when you use something as your mascot, you're showing
your admiration for it. You want it to symbolize your school, team, etc.
If I put Chiefs on my helmet, it means I think Indians are cool, and I want
my players to have their fighting spirit.

2nd, it looks like whining for whining's sake. Kinda diminishes my impression of your coolness.

Third, lets look at other people who are Mascots. Oilers? Steelers?
Cajun's? not just Cajuns-- ragin Cajuns, which suggests an anger management problem-- are Cajuns crying over that? How bout Irish?
is anybody offended by Notre Dame???? not just Irish---fighting Irish!
Talk about negative stereotype. Do priests cry about "Padres?," and their mascot used to be a cartoon priest swinging an oversize bat.

For the love of God, stop whining, put down the bottle, and get a job. (there's you a stereotype.)
