Naa, but the Greenies are on the waiting list though.
I dunno man. Tulane actually had a good coach, I just think they have to decide what they want to do with football. Either pour money into it and go all the way into making a real Division 1 program, or cut back and go "Ivy League" and try to join the Patriot Conference or something. They are constantly losing or mediocre at best. |

There's been talk of the Greenies looking at some big name coaches and one of them being Mike Leach. I think if they want to return the program to becoming respectable again, hiring a coach to create some buzz is absolutely necessary. Leach and his spread attack would be a great fit imo. There's enough talent here in LA that they could leach off LSU's leftovers and make a quick rise to the top of their conference.

I believe they have the reputation as a school and the money to make it happen. They've done it before. I also think New Orleans has a lot to offer as a college market but is exclusively tapped by LSU. If Tulane put a product worth watching on the field, people would go to the games. There was once a time when they filled the SuperDome......... |

I have never been to a Tulane game but I know one thing... if they were willing to put money into a coach like Leach, I definitely see myself catching a few games a year. They've had successful programs before and there has been a few talented players that have made the leap to the NFL. While the Shaun King/JuJuan Dawson days are in the distant past, it shows that it can be done and the support is there. Stop being cheap and make it happen... the revenue generated will more than pay for the initial outgoing expense.
I remember when Leach was fired from Texas Tech... his asking price was around a little above a million dollars. Being that he's been out the game for a while, it should still be around that number or maybe even less. |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |
