LSU loses Gunner Kiel to Notre Dame

Gunner Kiel leaves LSU at the altar for Notre Dame (for now)
Kiel is ditching LSU for a last-second defection to Notre Dame, according to the Notre Dame Observer, which confirmed an afternoon of rampant speculation with a university staffer on Monday night. Kiel is expected to enroll in South Bend by the end of the week — possibly as soon as Tuesday, the first day of classes for the spring semester — putting him on pace to join a crowded depth chart in spring practice.

Good luck with Kelly in ND. Going to see a lot of ESPN highlights over the next 3 or 4 years of Kelly chewing him out on national television.

I just heard this on the radio ... if the kid can't make up his mind on which school to attend, how's he gonna' be able to go through his checkdowns in a game? Just sayin' ...

Ya'll better off without him.

Kid couldn't make a decision, NOT what you want in a QB.

Noter Dame is a mess, he should have stayed with LSU. Not a good move.

Yeah, even without looking at it too closely you have to scratch your head at the move ..... LSU is in the SEC, played for the National Championship, Les Miles, location, location, location ..... Notre Dame's recruits are following the coaching staff to Ohio State & Urban Meyer, it's in Indiana and it's no longer the Notre Dame of lore. Sure, the architecture and history of the campus is kind of cool, but it's still not the Gulf Coast.

IDK, will he get more exposure at Notre Dame? Playing time? Didn't seem like that great a decision to me either.

If this kid wants to go to ND over LSU, much less an SEC school.... That tells me this kid is a few bricks shy of a load if you ask me.

I don't think Kiel is Kelly type of QB.

Yeah, upon further review, I think the kid went the path of least resistance. His parents wanted him closer to home and he's probably got a better chance of immediate playing time at Notre Dame then LSU (?). He's supposed to be the third coming of Peyton Manning (the second being Andrew Luck).

IDK, I don't see all the fuss .... we all know Michigan is gonna' be National Champs next season .... or MSU, either or, LoL! .... you guys know I'm joking, right?
