LSU should have banner NFL Draft
BATON ROUGE — It could be like 1948 all over again for the LSU football program in the upcoming 74th NFL Draft, which begins Thursday night and runs through Saturday.
The LSU record for players selected in the NFL Draft is eight in 1948 when quarterback Y.A. Tittle led the way as the sixth pick of the first round. Seven Tigers were picked in each of the drafts in 2008, 2006, 2004, 1990, 1988, 1962 and 1951. According to NFL Draft expert Mike Detillier, LSU's top eight for the seven-round draft are cornerback Morris Claiborne, defensive tackle Michael Brockers and wide receiver Rueben Randle in the first round, followed by strong safety Brandon Taylor likely in the third round with tight end Deangelo Peterson and cornerback Ron Brooks in the middle rounds and outside linebacker Ryan Baker and center T-Bob Hebert in the late rounds. Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

Not to thread jack, but Bama will have about 8 as well.
That speaks to the dominance of the SEC that 2 schools will have possible 16 to 18 players picked between the two. Bama may have 5 1st rounders picked, and they really don't have that many Seniors graduating. |
