this is a discussion within the College Community Forum; Bama not as good as advertised. Some might say lucky. Their cream puff schedule has caught up with them. Yeldon is a fumble machine....

Texas A&M vs Bama

Bama won't fall far. They'll set at 3 or 4.
Bama's defense was re-organized and is showing some weakness. Their still a strong contended. Thought tonight was their second challenge of the season. A&M took advantage of many things LSU exposed. |

Re: Texas A&M vs Bama
Wouldn't it be funny if they somehow snuck back up to number 2 and played in the title game again?
They'll win their next two, then probably sneak by Georgia. A lot can happen in 4 weeks. |

I STILL have my doubts about Oregon. I dunno, they're like a circus team that looks good on paper and pads wins.... when they played LSU last year they got SMOKED. They looked weak and small compared to LSU. LSU pushed them around like it was a toy. Oregon could still lose a game and drop. Wouldn't be worried about Notre Dame. Not only could they lose to anybody, but their competition combined record is horrible. Already talking about a 1 loss Bama or Georgia could leapfrog them. |

Precisely why we need real playoffs, preferably with a 16 team bracket max just so no one can beotch about being left out. There is no way any of the undefeateds beat a top tier SEC team.

Playoff system are "the American Way" as far as I'm concerned, and most of the rest of America too. In the NFL, luck or not - bad refs - acts of god - etc. - nothing can take away any teams' Superbowl victory. We never wake up the day after the Superbowl and say "what if So-in-so got in? What a great game that would have been." That's because there is no chance So-in-so would get in without winning head to head matches on a path to the SB. Meaning - NO Championship in College football is entirely "undisputed." Heck they can even split the BCS on you with the AP etc.! We're still awarding Championships by "poll" and not merit in college football. |

Re: Texas A&M vs Bama
To make it through the SEC is brutal. In college or pro football, if you turn the ball over, you can be beat. The A&M coach is the real deal. Their QB is a star in the making. They brought the effort. They could have/maybe should have beat Florida and LSU. On a neutral field, Bama would be favored over Kansas State, Oregon, and double digits over Notre Dame. But, if Kansas State and Oregon goes undefeated, they should play in the title game. Six teams in the SEC could beat Notre Dame.
