As a Wolverine fan, I am incredibly happy with this hire. He's an upgrade over Al Borges in every way possible.

Hard to say whether or not he was a good OC or not. He was working with superior talent and Alabama and the name "Nick Saban" pretty much recruits itself. I don't expect to see the same Nussmeier at Alabama in Michigan. Nick Saban is more conservative and influential in how Bama's offense was run. So while he was running his offense, I'm guessing it had it's limitations on how it was ran.
So while there's plenty of name recognition to Michigan's hire, it not really a loss to Bama and how he performs in Ann Harbor remains to be seen. |
