And now for your updated SEC football arrests standings. . .

College football's arrest season - the time between the end of spring games and the start of preseason camp in August - got off to a roaring start Saturday.

Just a week after Florida's spring game, Gators' redshirt freshman cornerback J.C. Jackson was arrested for an alleged robbery.

Gainesville (Fla.) police said Jackson entered an acquaintance's apartment Saturday with two men. Despite the fact Jackson left the apartment and someone allegedly pulled out a gun to take two video game consoles and $382 from the apartment's three residents, police still charged him with robbery with a firearm.

He was booked into the Alachua (Fla.) County jail Sunday on a charge of robbery with a firearm and held on $150,000 bond.

According to arrestnation.com, which has tracked the arrests/citations/charges of athletes in college and pro sports since August 2010, Jackson is the 13th SEC football player arrested since school re-convened in January, including three Alabama players arrested in a four-day span in late March.

Here's the updated SEC arrest standings (since August 2010 by arrestnation.com) heading into the bulk of arrest season:

Georgia, 22 by 21 players, none in 2015, last arrest Oct. 5, 2014; Texas A&M 22 by 19 players, two in 2015, last arrest March 10.

Missouri, 21 by 19 players and a head coach, none in 2015, last arrest Nov. 7, 2014.

Florida, 20 by 17 players, 2 in 2015, last arrest on Saturday.

Tennessee, 19 by 19 players, 2 in 2015, last arrest March 25; Ole Miss, 19 by 18 players, 2 in 2015, last arrest Jan. 22.

Kentucky, 18 by 18 players, 0 in 2015, last arrest Oct. 7, 2014

Alabama, 17 by 14 players, 3 in 2015, last arrest March 31

Arkansas, 14 by 14 players, 1 in 2015, last arrest Feb. 22.

Auburn, 12 by 12 players, 0 in 2015, last arrest July 11, 2014

LSU, 10 by 9 players, 0 in 2015, last arrest July 24, 2014; Mississippi State, 10 by 9 players, 2 in 2015, last arrest March 13

There's a reality show in there somewhere ... "from county jail to the NFL ... ".

What's up with Vandy? No wonder they can't win any football games,.

You guys realize these are just kids right?

Most haven't had the same upbringing as you and I have.

While I totally understand the back and forth between great football programs, I think this goes a bit too far. They're just dumb kids after all.

And for clarity, I've been just as guilty as most so I'm not high-horsing anyone. We just need to remember that these are kids. I think we've all made some pretty stupid decisions when we were that age. Some of us (me included) just never got caught.

IDK, when I was their age none of my 'stupid decisions' involved armed robbery, rape, drugs/drunk & disorderly, et ... well, maybe drunk & disorderly, ... calling 'em "kids" and giving 'em an out because they may/may not have come from disadvantaged homes is a cop-out/crutch, IMO. Pretty sure if you called them out, the first thing they're gonna' try & do is play the "man-card", so they don't think of themselves as "kids", #shrug. That's why them kids act the way they do because no one's ever held them accountable or to a standard and told them they were 'special' because they could play ball.

They're in college to learn (despite the infamous Cardale Jones - Ohio State quote) ... some people learn the hard-way, #shrug. At some point in your life, presumably 18, you're an adult & you're expected to make the right decisions regardless of your past or upbringing. These guys are just stupid.
