You know, Russell was supposed to be the second coming and he will be better next year. I think they will all stay because you never know who will emerge. Don\'t underestimate Jamarcus Russell, he started to come on last season, his rookie season at that.

I had plenty of faith in him Halo, but his completion percentage is killing me. I definitely hope he improves over the off-season. I wanna believe he will. But Perriloux is supposed to be like \"the guy\" coming out of high school at QB this year right?

Yeah and Jamarcus Russell was the QB coming out of college a year ago or so also. He came from Mobile and was the number 1 or 2 recruit in the country. I don\'t know, I thought he did a great job for his first year. It\'s hard to call on a freshman to lead you to a second national championship, between him and Randell (not a good QB) they went 9 and 2.

Jamarcus saved the first game of the year, and pretty much saved the last game had it not been for the hail mary... along with some other games in between. Pretty impressive for a freshman. He reminds me of Rohan Davey who, in my opinion and against many racially motivated fans, was the best LSU QB I\'ve seen in recent history. He too had a lackluster start.

BTW-Don\'t get me wrong, I LOVE THE COMPETITION!!! It\'s real fun having a discussion as to who will start and who will be a star.

I know right, it is better than wondering WHO will be our QB and how good they are. I am glad we have this problem. I also am of the opinion Rohan was the best QB, we had and if he plays like that, I am sold.

On a side note, can you give me any insight as to what happened with Justin Vincent? I love Broussard, but was Vincent just ineffective or what? He went to the bench pretty quick after being Sugar Bowl MVP. I thought he had a fumble or too early in the season, maybe I am wrong.

People asked me this all the time. I found out that Vincent missed some offseason and came in out of shape and with a bad attitude. Apparently he was too high from the National Championship. He fell into Saban\'s dog house early and that was it. He played some, but Saban was a team kind of guy, and LSU was a lot like New England in that way with Belachek, Saban\'s mentor.

I had a feeling that was it. Honestly. To have that much success as a freshman is too much for some guys. I can believe Saban would handle it that way too as he is a Belichek disciple. I like Broussard though. He is a load. But to have a kinda thunder and lightning combo would be sweet also. I hope vincent gets his mind right.

In my opinion Russell is very similiar to Dante Culpepper. He will definately beat out Ryan and will have an outstanding season. Les Miles is offensive minded and likes going down field. Ryan does have a big time arm and will be a good fit for the offense, but he\'s still raw coming in. Russell has an absolute CANNON for an arm and looks as if he throws with very little effort. Although Flynn didn\'t look so good last year, but did anyone else besides me notice his rocket arm too? It\'s going to be good competition next year but Russell will start, Flynn second string, and Ryan redshirted. No point in wasting a year of eligibility riding the pine.

Powe the massive tackle from Mississippi spurned LSU the day before signing day after giving us a solid verbal commitment on national tv. Man I would have loved for him to come here. He plays similiar to our former stud DT Booger McFarland. Sucks we lost him.

Talking about RB\'s, we have two more solid running back recruits this year. Broussard, Vincent, Hester, Addai, etc... we are extremely deep at this position.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

I thought Addai was a senior? No. Anyway, yes we are still deep at back. And we are deep at receiver too. I am worried about the D with Webster and Daniels leaving, but if we can get that high powered O, I am sold. Russell needs to improve his 49% passing for the season for me to be truly behind him, but the Iowa bowl game was a big start. He played VERY well. Having young receivers may have hurt him too. Hopefully this year he goes bucknutty and we can red-shirt Perrilloux.

It was our front sevens first year together last year. So the chemistry will be better next year and I think we\'ll be fine. Our 2004 and 2003 recruits were very solid. We ranked as one of the top recruiting classes for both years. Most was on defense and a lot of them were 4 star players. 4 or 5 of them were DB\'s that were stuck behind Travis Daniels and Corey Webster. It\'s time for them to grow up now that the big dogs are gone and earn their schloarships. They\'ve worked for 2 years with Saban and learning from the best, so I\'ll think we are going to be just fine.

Russell needs to be more consistent, but he\'ll get there. Remember he was a starting freshman last year and look at the potential he flashed. New qb friendly system and he\'ll blow up, hopefully.
