Make his fight on the hill in the early day
Constant chill deep inside Shooting gun, on they run through the endless grey On they fight, for the right, yes, but who's to say? For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know Suffered wounds test their pride Men of five, still alive through the raging glow Gone insane from the pain that they surely know For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls Take a look to the sky just before you die It is the last time he will Blackened claw massive roar fills the crumbling sky Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery He hears the silence so loud Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls |

Yeah, when the whispers started a few days back I figured it was nothing. But it has gotten quite serious. I didn't think LSU would ever part ways with him, short of some complete disaster. I don't get any joy out of the situation, it's kind of bitter-sweet because he's a good guy, but as a football coach his philosophy is built to do exactly what he has done... Get great talent, line up and dominate (sometimes) inferior teams, but have extremely mixed results in the meat of the schedule. This forum is the only one I've ever been a member of. I lurk on a few others, but am too disgusted with the level of idiocy I see to ever want to be a member. Nobody has a clue, and those who do get attacked mercilessly. I know I would do nothing but fight with people, if I signed up to that crap. I bring that up because through my years of lurking I have read so many people making excuses for Miles and how he "just wins". He does, for the most part, and he's great if you're a second tier team looking for a little stability. But people fail to realize his inability to ever adapt. The most common thing I hear every year leading into November, when we're somewhere in the top 10 and people like me are asking ourselves "can we pass the freaking ball if we need to?", is "We've been winning with our ground game all year, why should we pass?". And, like clockwork, those people have to eat crow every year with the exception of 2013, when we miraculously had a real passing game, but no defense. You can line up and whip the underdogs all day long until somebody matches your physicality. Even then, we couldn't beat Arkansas the last two years, and they're terrible. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Les Miles
People that say all he does is win, don't watch LSU football. Because of they did, they would know we lose to the tough/physical teams. As a fan and as a guy with a close relative who is a booster, all the wins in the world mean nothing if you can't beat Alabama.
Less Miles still has some years in him but his philosophies are outdated for this level of football. I can't remember the kids name but we actually have a blue chipper qb that signed his letter of intent. So maybe if we get a coach and staff that is more balanced, we can start off on a good foot. Lastly...crazy thought..but how crazy would it be for Chip Kelly to get the ax in Philly and come to LSU...hmmmm Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk |

I can't help but think all the Jimbo Fisher talk is like Les Miles to Arkansas a couple years back. Jimbo's camp will just parlay all the talk into a raise. But who knows.
I don't know of any QB who has signed a letter of intent for this year. I know we had Feleipe Franks committed, but he just de-committed yesterday. And, of course, Miles supporters are trying to put that on "all you people who wanted Miles out". Jumping to the inevitable conclusion that he de-committed because of Miles leaving. But Franks said he's been talking about doing it for about a month. And people with knowledge of his recruitment confirmed as much. |

Re: Les Miles
I wouldn't blame him. I've been saying for the last couple years, why in the world would any good qb want to come to LSU just to hand the ball off 40 times a game. This is why I can't stand Les..he will run the ball a million times no matter if it's successful or not. This is the biggest thing that has always infuriated me.

and just like you said about QB's, which I agree with, I have always said the same thing about receivers. We seem to be loaded, year in and year out, with highschool All-Americans at that position, and I ask myself... "why do these guys keep coming here? HOW do we get them here?". I'm glad to have them, but most of them just rot on the bench or on the field waiting for someone to look their way. |
