Re: WWL Radio: LSU Tigers take #4 spot in AP Top 25
Yeah, they'll go in one direction or the other. This will be BY FAR the best defense Alabama has faced, and the best offense LSU has faced. All of the geniuses in the media are going to stick with chalk and act like Bama will never punt again. But I've seen worse LSU teams give Bama all they can handle, defensively.
Bama's secondary isn't fantastic, and I think LSU needs to be aggressive and take shots down the field often. None of this run to set up the pass business. They need to pass to set up the run. It's just the way it is. Being conservative has gotten LSU nowhere for 7 years in this matchup. Thier QB relies on RPO's and chunking it deep all day. Teams have been biting on it constantly. This LSU secondary is, in my opinion, the best in the country, and I think Dave Aranda will have them prepared to play a disciplined game and force Tua to throw into some windows he probably isn't very used to. That's not to say that Tua is a fluke. He is certainly talented, and if LSU doesn't pressure him, he's going to move the ball methodically down the field. But that goes without saying. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
