However, DBU they are not...

And what's with these idiots celebrating a sack when Texas has 350+ PaYds on you for the game?

Get you're arse back in formation and do it for every play before you celebrate like an asshat...

Texas loss the game but were better fit. And sure tackling kept it respectable . LSU just had more talent.

Went to the Astros game. Knew this game was going to be a barn burner. I missed a good one. Loving the LSU air raid. Been waiting for this a long long time.

Nice win but let's be real for a second ... Tigers defense has problems right now. Arm tackling, guys not wrapping (Delpit) up etc. You aren't beating the likes of Auburn, Fl or Bama with that type of performance on defense.

Lots to clean up on the defensive side of the ball.

Re: WWL Radio: Burrow's 4 TD passes lead LSU over Texas 45-38

The boys in that secondary were tight, living off the hype, and were afraid to hit someone, even on that onside kick at the end...

Coach O better cure that fast are the 2019 Tigers are gonna geaux down like a Lead Zeppelin...

Worked three days straight no sleep and slept this afternoon before the game, so maybe I'm still cranky, but was p*ssed-off with the defensive effort...

While I'm glad LSU has finally abandoned this bullshinski of the athlete at QB, and now are taken advantage of the WR they always seem to recruit...

That effort on defense was pathetic, and not one of those boys should get first round consideration after that effort tonight...

Joe Burrow saved Coach O's job, but it won't be for long if Coach O doesn't start keeping more in-state talent from that coach in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and actually winning a few of the right recruiting battles...

Day after and when I see the headlines of the victory I'm still thinking - That secondary better check their egos and had better tighten the f*ck up...

Kmajor said it all. Arm tacking not wrapping up and a defense that looked lost to me at times pointing at each other .

I agree that the defense clearly has to play better than it did last night to beat Bama. But Florida and Auburn are not as good as Texas on offense, and they will have no answer for this offense LSU is running right now. Auburn has struggled stopping LSU's dinosaur offenses.

But to win an SEC and possible national championship, they have to tackle and they have to bring pressure.

Dave Aranda had a very passive game plan. The blitz got to Ehlinger the few times LSU brought it, but for no apparent reason, they would go back to a four man rush and near prevent type of alignment in the secondary, and got picked apart in the intermediate area. Anyone could have seen that there was nothing to lose by coming after the QB, and yet Aranda sat back on his heels and watched his defense record exactly zero stops in the second half.

The offense looks phenomenal, with the exception of the running game being a little underwhelming thus far. LSU is hiding some elite talent at RB, on the bench, and I'm not sure why that is, but I think that will come around. Joe Burrow is making NFL throws, and those back shoulder passes looked very familiar. Watching LSU come out passing in their last drive, to put the game away, instead of sitting on the ball and playing not to lose (which usually results in losing) was the defining moment for me. After almost 15 years of watching LSU go into a shell at the end of games, that was incredibly refreshing.

I'm surprised you're picking on the secondary more than anything else. The coverage downfield (beyond 15 yards) was pretty decent most of the night, but that front seven gave Ehlinger all day to throw, and he was just throwing 10 or 15 yard passes the whole way down the field. There is no secondary in America that can cover for 5-8 seconds on every play.

Delpit and Fulton have previously proven themselves, so I don't think it's fair that you think they aren't first round material because of last night. And the freshman, Stingley, looked the part, to me.

The tackling was, indeed, atrocious. There just is no excuse for that. But, as I said in my above post, Aranda was too passive.

Dammm u covered everything I saw last nite , nice. Yes we did go in prevent on D I guess because a running QB but it failed to stop him anyway he looked for a crease and shot up for big Gains at times . The RB can’t make the first guy miss , that will be trouble in the sec especially bama. Hope their hiding the RB that can do that. Heliere looked slow to start but did get better.D backs have to quit worrying about pics that’s there no1 problem. And play football

In regard to the RB's they are hiding, I'm referring to two freshmen; John Emery, and Tyrion Davis-Price. They are highly touted, and Emery was listed as the top RB recruit in the country by at least one publication. He's another Fournette type of talent, with the rare combination of size and speed. But he might have more lateral quickness than Fournette, which makes him an all around insane talent.

And yet, he barely played last week, and I don't recall seeing him once last night. I can only imagine he has some kind of injury that isn't being talked about, or they feel like he doesn't know the plays well enough yet. But given his ability, I'd like to see him touch the ball at least five times, if he's healthy, to get him acclimated. Davis-Price only has about 7 or 8 carries in the two games combined. He's a bigger back, who runs pretty well, though not as fast as Emery.

I agree about Helaire. He really hasn't made people miss. Give him an opening and he'll run through it, but he reminds of Mark Ingram in his first several years with the Saints.

It's been said that his inability to pass block was part of the reason why he didn't see the field. Keeping Burrow upright should be our number priority on offense. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of the younger backs the next 3 games.

I was pretty disappointed with the defense in the second half but...

-It was a road game against an excellent offense.
-It was hot.
-Our locker room had no air conditioning.
-They were holding Chaisson all night long.

For the most part, coverage on the outside was good. Kary Vincent struggled mightily and shied away from contact when tackling. A couple of missed tackles here and there and the game would have been a complete blow out IMO. The defense is better than what it showed Saturday night. It will be better.

I saw holding all nite too. They called Texas once at the end. Good take on emery.

LSU's locker room at Texas didn't have air conditioning

Quote:

Orgeron didn’t blame the lack of air conditioning for the Tigers’ cramping issues, but he did say the team would have to change things in coming weeks.
