The problem is the taxes are built into the system. Too many people benefit, which is why the obvious choice, a flat rate, isn't going to happen. It can make all the sense in the world, just like health care REFORM (which is not what is being done, but that's another thread), but the people in charge have too many horses in the race.

The dems aren't going to do it. The Republicans are doing to do it either, and unless you are one or the other you ain't getting elected because some 'other' cannot compete fairly. It is a nice dream, but that's all it is.
