Should have seen the price and size in '73. I remember taking some of my trapping money to buy a TI-SR10 when I was getting ready to take physics and bio-statistics. It did exponents, sq, sq rt and inverse...that's it, and it was $100 (>$500 2019 dollars) No way I could afford an HP.
Got out of grad school in 1978 and my TI's battery was dead. Went to the book store looking for a battery and the replacement battery's cost was more than a new TI-SR10. That was my probably first experience with "disposable electronics". |
