Time reports that Thorpe Park has been conducting test runs of its new coaster, the Swarm, even enlisting fighter pilots who described the ride as "gut-wrenching."

And in other roller coaster news ...

"Modern Family" mother and son Sofia Vergara and Rico Rodriguez had a scream on the wet and wild Splash Mountain ride while shooting an episode on location at Disneyland on Wednesday. And yes, those are high heels in Sofia's hand. Hope she hung on to them! (2/29/2012)...courtesy of OMG from Yahoo!
