"You Are Not Special" Commencement Speech
 

Great Speech... most of which is not conveyed by the media. Here it is in its entirety.

As a teacher, I loved this.
The message is delivered positively and practically. Some parents will b***h of course, but this is real world stuff.
Can't tell you how many times a day kids come up to me and say "I DID my homework" or "I brought the right book today!" That's not special , that's the expectation

awesome...too many people think we're more than we are...just another organism.

Teaching/preaching reality is always the better choice, too many people never realize life is not the fantasy seen on TV everyday.

Should be required to be read at ALL graduations in the US until these kids can read, write and do basic math.

Just nitpicking but we are special in one regard. We live in a country that gives everyone the opportunity to succeed beyond your wildest dreams.

Perhaps thats actually a "we are special" as a Nation more so than "you are special" as an individual within this nation.

I'd love to see him give a speech detailing "You Are Not Entitled", although thats kinda what his speech is saying.
