She squirted water all over him from behind. She didn't deserve to be punched... but she was no innocent bystander.

No she didn't. Watch the video; a guy squirts water at the police as the lady walks away and the cop assumed she did it.

This ... in a city where they throw batteries at Santa Claus ... he f-d up ... after watching the video, there's no way he can even remotely justify punching her in the face.

I think it's out of his hands now. If I was consulting him on PR would have told him to make direct 1 on 1 contact with her, issue apology, explain the mistake and enroll in anger management.

It's a shame someone serves for 19 years and loses his job over something like this, but after looking at it again, it was uncalled for.

Even if she sprayed him with mace, which she didn't do anything to him, he still doesn't have the right to deck a protester to the ground.

Cameras and recording are everywhere. Cops will have the hardest time understanding this, but their industry is the most desperate for reform when it comes to abuses.

Now, had he hit a politician........ I wouldn't have a problem with it!!
