Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!
You know something? I thought the same thing about Andrea when I first saw her. I recognized her from something, but couldn't put my finger on where. It wasn't The Mist where I remember her from, though. It was the video game-turned-movie, Silent Hill. Decent flick, actually. It was the same for Dale. Could not put my finger on where I had seen him, because the beard was throwing me off. He was the prosecuting attorney at the beginning of The Shawshank Redemption and the older guard in The Green Mile. He was in The Mist and Storm of the Century, as well. It was well into Season 2 before I realized that. Carol was in The Mist, as welll. I'm a big believer in imdb.com when I'm at a loss on a character of something I am watching. Then, as I mentioned in another Walking Dead thread, there's Daryl who was in The Boondock Saints. He was the only person I knew in the entire show initially, just because that is my all-time favorite movie.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!
After watching the the last episode and the previews for next week here's what I think I would do if I decided not hightail it out of there.
The Governors group has unwisely chosen to cluster themselves into that small courtyard outside the steel door. This gives the prison group the perfect opportunity to even up the odds a little bit. Hide on the roof above that metal door that the Guv's people were going to try to pry open and drop grenades and Molotov Cocktails down on them. Then retreat back into the prison. The grenades are going to injure or maim a good number of people and the fire is going really ruin their day. Remember that Merle took out 8 of the Guvs best fighters and Darryl knows this and will tell his people back at the prison. If this isn't enough to cause them to retreat make sure that you use your knowledge of the prison to your advantage. Prepare a defense in depth with prepared fall back positions. Make every door a killing field. Grenades are great for trapping doors. Have firing positions near the next door so you can cause as much damage as possible before retreating through it and closing it behind you. Lather rinse repeat. make sure you have a bug out plan in case things aren't going your way. If they're smart and decide to retreat after the first encounter be ready to get up on the roof quickly so you can pick off as many as possible while they try to drag/carry their wounded back with them. Remember that these people aren't trained soldiers (for the most part). Do enough damage and a lot of them will become born again pacifists. Watch out for RPGs and that 50 cal. That could really ruin your day. |

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!
This is the key here. Rick's group is small, but they are battle tested as far as shooting accuracy with the walkers. How many of the Governor's recruits can actually say that? Probably not many. The adversity that Rick and Co. face is when they are actually under heavy fire. Some of them have been privy to that, but not of this magnitude. It will be interesting to see how many of them thrive under the pressure or fold like a lawn chair.

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!
Think about this - The episode is called welcome to the tombs
The tombs being the lower levels on the prison that are crawling with walkers because no one ever cleared them Could Rick and the prison group force Woodbury into a trap, by leading Woodbury's soldiers into the tombs and locking the exits Crap load of walkers that woodbury's people could be lead right towards |

Re: The Walking Dead thread RESURRECTED!
I don't know if a crowd of walkers is going to be that much of a threat to the WBs. They seem to know how handle them. But hey, every little bit helps.
If the Governor is smart (and ruthless) he'll send in the weaklings first. Use them to trip traps and take the brunt of the fire power. Keep your fighters alive for crunch time. |
