As many as 14 injured in stabbing in Lone Star College Cy-Fair stabbing
This was today about 2 miles from my house.
HOUSTON -- Emergency crews are tending to multiple victims of a stabbing attack on the Lone Star College Cy-Fair campus in Texas. The violence broke out at about 11:20am at the rear of the Health Sciences Building on the Cy-Fair campus on Barker Cypress Road. The Harris County Sheriff's Department confirms 14 victims, and one suspect in custody. There had been reports of a second suspect, but HCSO now confirms they believe the suspect acted alone and they are ending the search for any further suspects. At least one person is said to be critically injured. The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department says four patients have been taken by Life Flight to Hermann Texas Medical Center. Two more patients were taken by ground ambulance to Hermann Hospital. The remainder were taken to North Cypress Hospital, and two people refused treatment at the scene. James, a student at the school, told Eyewitness News's sister station, KTRK, he helped authorities take one person into custody. He says the suspect, who appeared to be a student, may be hearing impaired, and was armed with a knife similar to an exacto knife, that may be used in animal dissections. James says he saw the suspect, dressed in black, emerge from the building at a run, and he gave chase. When tackled, the suspect reportedly said, 'I give up, I give up.' James adds that he saw several people bleeding, including some victims with neck wounds. They were tended to by medical crews. Students were held inside classrooms as the campus went into lockdown. One student told Eyewitness News he held a prayer circle with students in his classroom. Other people who appear to be students could be seen walking calmly to their vehicles in the parking lot. Deputies are searching each vehicle before drivers are allowed to leave campus. Cy-Fair ISD secured the following nearby campuses as a precaution: Aragon Middle, Postma Elementary, Fiest Elementary, Copeland Elementary, Birkes Elementary, Rennell Elementary, Robinson Elementary, Homesley Elementary, Jowell Elementary and The Berry Center. While the schools are not under an official lockdown, doors are locked and no visitors are allowed on campus. Alan Bernstein, Director of Public Affairs for the college, said, "It appears the campus is now safe, but we have people triple checking the sprawling campus for other suspects and victims." The first issued alert from the campus read: " Two armed suspects at LSC-CyFair. One suspect is at large. Stay away from the area. Seek shelter in a secure location until the incident is resolved. Be aware of your surroundings. If you have reason to believe that the suspect is in or near your location, notify LSC Police at 281.290.5911, if it is safe to do so. Updates on the situation will follow as new and confirmed information becomes available." Bernstein says an all-clear will not be given until authorities are certain they have the situation completely under control. Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene. LSC-CyFair campus will be closed for the remainder of the day/evening. LSC-Fairbanks Center is open, according to the college's website. Three people were injured in a shooting at the north campus of Lone Star College in January. The incidents are unrelated. Three ways to look at this.
1. If he had a gun there would have been people killed. 2. If guns were allowed on campus only 2 would have been stabbed. 3. If there were guns allowed on campus he would have never tried to stab anyone. |

We have been conditioned to think a certain way. Knife control was the first thing that came to my mind. Some where there is a tub of butter that is out of control.

Gun free zones are the equivalent of Wild Life Preserves to illegal hunters.
Try to kill as many as you can before the game warden shows. |
