A man is in a coma after staff at a Jagermeister pool party in Mexico poured liquid nitrogen into a pool, forming a dangerous concoction.
"To start the show, events staff emptied the contents of the cans into the pool where there were about 30 young people, pouring the liquid into the water, which apparently reacted with the water, causing a large gas cloud," one witness told reporters in Mexico on Saturday, according to The Telegraph.
Several people at the party had to be rescued after fainting, and the man in the coma – identified by local media as 21-year-old Jose Ignacio Lopez del Toro -- remains in intensive care.
Authorities are investigating the party organizers, who have not been publicly identified.
"We are aware of this incident in Leon, Mexico, which is currently being investigated by our headquarters here in Germany,” a Jagermeister spokesman said.

When you mix nitrogen with pool water (chlorinated water) you get nitrogen trichloride... a form of tear gas that irritates mucous membranes.
