"Chuck Taylor's were the shoe of choice (after you got too old for PF Flyers), but only the black or whites, and only the hi-tops if you could get 'em ... didn't even realize they had other colors until a decade or two later ... they (the black & whites) were also my 'third-world country' shoe of choice ... thick rubber soles made them long-lasting and basically "all-terrain" footwear, the canvas would dry out from the rains quickly ... used to get 'em for $7 a pair, look at the prices now since the 'yuppy' crowd latched onto 'em, .

... I miss rotary-dials ... power could go out, but your phone wouldn't and you weren't expected to carry them around with you answering calls all day, they didn't serve a secondary purpose as a camera and when you threw one out of frustration, they knew you meant business! .
